Just back from AKL; any questions??

The Deluxe rooms are slightly larger-views same....you can find the size & layout on this site or the official WDW site.

I liked being on the lowest floor and "eye level" with the animals, and preferred the center savanah to the Sunset Savanah-which had outbuildings and fenced areas & more birds& ostrich. There is also a savanah next to the pool and we had 3 giraffs eating in view of our beach chairs-awesome.:)

Kathy,

Did you have to pay extra to use the fitness center?
Can you tell what activities you took part in and were they worthwhile?

The fitness center is $25 for an individual length of stay. $45 for a family length of stay and I think $10 or $15 for a one time use fee.

No, zero entry just means that the pool is like sand , or it could be cement, and just goes right into the water. No side around one end. Thanks JudithM and Tiffany. I didn't know that all the deluxe savannah rooms were on the 5th floor. Looks like we'll be staying higher up then I wanted! I'm glad there are 2 laundry's!

Hi Everyone!
To answer some of the questions not answered yet, There are 2 laundry areas. One is by the pool on the 1st floor (Zebra trail) the other is on the 2nd floor on the Kudu Trail. I used the one by the pool while sunning:D . It was very clean and convenient. No one was in there except myself, but expensive. It cost $7.00 for 1 load. (I had to use the dryer twice).
The fitness room as mentioned before is $15.00 a day. But, my mother and I only used it one day. The attendants did not change us since we were using the treadmill only. They were very nice.
The only activities at the lodge that we did were the night vision tracking and flamingo feedings. They were fine, but I wouldn't schedule my day around them. The CM's are so accomodating that we were able to ask them questions any time of the day. They are always "stationed" at varies points around the hotel.
We only smelled poop one evening while in the jacuzzi, and it was only a real little bit. The flamingos are right behind the jacuzzi and it was a very humid night.
Hope I answered all your questions.
