Just returned from 2 nights at AKL and 8 nights at the Poly. In fact most of my crew is there one last night. Any questions?

Welcome back! How was the AKL? Did you stay savannah view? we plan on staying there in Aug. for 4 nights to rest for our trip home. (will be driving down) Don't plan on going to the parks those days. The beginning of our trip will be 8 days at the Poly, I hope. What longhouse did you stay in.? Everything and anything about both resorts would love to hear.

Which one did you like better? Why? I had to make this decision for a 3 night stay, and I hope you'll tell me you liked the Animal Kingdom better, but be truthful!

we are going to poly next month!!! Can't wait. 3 kids-6,8,9....
anything you could share or recommend would be great.
how crowded was pool, how was food court, restuarants......
welcome home

Mrs. A, I didn't go to the parks while I was at AKL either even though I have an annual pass. That part of my trip was solo...long story....and I did a day at Saratoga Springs but mostly read (during daylight hours) and watched the animals. I was on Zebra Trail, Uzima savannah. I had requested no smoking, king bed, zebra trail on my reservation and was lucky enough to get all three. At the Poly we had two accessible rooms in Rapa Nui with beautiful views.

samsa the AKL is beautiful and I very much enjoyed my short stay but the Polynesian remains my favorite. It is so relaxing, the grounds are stunning and you simply can't beat it for convenience. The rooms are huge compared to AKL, too. But I'm sure you'll love AKL.

joloco, the volcano pool was not too crowded. No trouble getting a chair or table this trip. We love Kona for breakfast and dinner. We ate both meals there twice this trip. We've never dined at 'Ohana.....a little too much meat for me.:D Captian Cooks is the snack bar. They used to have a wider selection there but I appreciate that it is open 24 hours. Great for early mornig tea!:D I hope you have a fantastic time.
