Just back from a great week at Vero!

We are headed there this summer. Booked at 7 mos. and they said it was pretty full. No 1bdrm or Studios available. On the Inn rooms. Which was fine with us. HH was completely booked. First week in August is when we are headed there.

Some of the activities are free and some have a fee.
Paper flowers, scratch art, unbirthday party were free. Games - dodgeball, soccer, etc. of course are free. Chalk art, face painting, underwater fish hunt, and the like are free, also.
The Mickey plate craft and Seaside Chefs were $7 each. She loved Seaside Chefs - she decorated an apron, chef hat and made jello pudding "dirt" cups. She also made a cute seashell bag for $3.
There were also other activities for 3 and 4 dollars (member price - guest price is a couple dollars more) - suncatcher, paint a mug, t-shirt, clay magnet - to name a few. I signed her up for most activities the morning of, or the day before.
Hope this helps and hope you have a great trip!:)

All those activites sounds like fun! I told my girls about it and they can't wait to go!!! I think the seashell bag will be a big hit with my girls.

Someone mentioned an outing for the kids about oceanlife. How much more is that? I know my oldest will love doing that.

Sue

There are 3-5 year old Tot activities - a couple everyday, looking at our schedule from last week. I don't know if there were more activities than usual when we were there since it was the week after Easter! There was a tot Treasure Hunt, Tot basketball,Tot coin/fish toss,parent/tot craft, etc. All of these are accompanied by an adult, so mabye Granddad can take her! There are also activities such as chalk art, scavenger hunt,Unca Banjo, sandcastle building, etc. that are for anyone that she might enjoy. Have a great trip!

Sounds wonderful! Thanks so much for this information!
Only 2 weeks to wait now!

Mandy:)

I am under the 60 day mark until our next trip and am getting homesick just reading this..

Just returned last night from VB. We had a 2bd in building 15. There were 5 adults and 3 kids. We had a great time and there was so much to do!! Dds 11 & 13 spent ALOT of time at the beach body surfing and alot in the pool. DD3 loved the pool. There were alot of younger kids there for April vacation week. We played tennis, or at least our version:laughing: , took bike rides, did archery, family bingo and alot of time doing nothing :thumbsup2 . The cast members were great. The place was full, but the only time it seemed busy was at the pool. There were alot of saved seats and unfortunately, the staff did not follow through on removing people's stuff. That would be my only complaint.

I can hardly wait to go back!!

Is Vero the type of place that I should call day by day to get the week that I want.. I was thinking of a week in late June...next year...

Our 1st trip to VB will be 6/8-6/13. From everything I've read here, I'm even more excited just thinking about it.

At first, I read someone's post about "less than 60 days" and I thought, "Gee, how lucky!".

Amazing thing - we're less than 60 days out!!!! The school year has a way of making the time race while waiting for our next DVC visit.

:woohoo:

When did you book your ressie? 11 mos, 7 mos or less? We are going the same time in 2008. Thanks:)

I originally booked at the 7month window since it is not our home resort. Then, I waited until Southwest released their dates for June. We were using a combo of Reward miles & paying cash for the other two tickets. I could not get the flights I needed so I had to switch around our dates a bit. We arrive a day earlier and leave 2 days earlier than originally planned.

But, hey, I figure 5 nights @ VB sure beat anything else we were doing for June so we'd try it out.

I booked a 2BR. Did you book @ 11 mos or 7 mos?

What is an OVIR room:confused3

I'm assuming it is in the inn.....cause you had an ocean view.
thanks
Kerri
