We were at WDW Poly from 3/12 until 3/18.

Here are some of our moneysavers:

1. wegoshop.com---I LOVE this service. Prompt delivery and everything just as I ordered. It was so nice to not have to shop myself or to have to haul diapers, babyfood, etc. We took a softsided cooler into the parks with water, juice boxes, granola bars, and fruit. For 8 of us, that was a huge savings.

2. VKL vouchers---used these at the Rainforest Cafe. Steak/Lobster combo, shrimp, salad (we paid for), and Volcano dessert. They also let us get drinks in the souvenir cups for the kids for free (on the voucher). Our bill for the salads, 2 kids meals, and a couple of extra drinks was under $40. I will miss these vouchers!!!

Timesavers:

1. limo---not cheap, but really nice to have a driver waiting for us to help with luggage. we used Florida Tours, and they were wonderful!!! Nemo was on the TV, and a big Mickey Mouse was sitting in the back. The car was stocked with cold water, too.

2. the Poly----such a great location with little ones!! Just hop on the monorail to the MK.

Sanity savers:

1. our double stroller---we really needed this in the airport and to get back and forth to our room. I could not have managed carrying DD and keeping up with the other 3 kiddos (2 ours, 1 nephew).

2. crib from abbf.com---DD slept so well in the full size crib. I am glad we didn't do a pack and play for the week. I did bring a crib sheet from home so it would seem familiar.

3. Crystal Palace lunch and Ohana's breakfast---the kids loved these! Especially the parades.

Waste of time/money:

1. Quick and Casual Vouchers---we bought 10 and brought home 6. We just were never near the restaurants where these are big money savers (Beaches or Pepper Market). Having a baby with us this time really changed up our normal "go everywhere" method of travel. But it was so neat to see her reaction to things!

2. Chef Mickey's for dinner---our seating was at 7:00. Much too late for little ones (my fault---I love this place) DD was crying so I ended up walking her around. The boys were tired so they hardly ate. On future trips, we will stick with the breakfasts/lunches with the characters until our kiddos are a little older.

Let me know if you have any questions!!!

Glad to hear you had a great time!!! What are VKL vouchers and where do I find them? Thank you!!

How old are your children? I ask because I'm trying to decide whether to switch from the AKL to CR for our eight-night stay in May. I would love the convenience of being on the monorail, so am wondering if you had any thoughts about that. My daughters are 5 and 2, and we will have a stroller with us.

VKL are vacation kingdom lunch vouchers---they were available through hotwire before the new ticket/meal plans became available. The only ones still around might be on ebay at very high prices. They were $30 and you could get an appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert. So they were a great deal at some of the pricier restaurants that accepted them.

SleepingUgly---(now that username has to have a story!)---my kids are 6, 3, and 10 mos. We also took my 7 year old nephew. I love the AKL, but if you plan on bringing a stroller I would take the CR over AKL since you have to get everywhere by bus from the AKL. But we spent probably 1/2 our time at the MK, so that would be something else to consider as well. But hauling 4 kids plus a stroller and the necessary bags on and off the buses is not a fun task.

Yeah, I love to sleep and I ain't no looker. :earboy2:

So do you find that with small kids, you just tend to gravitate more towards MK? For instance, I've planned a couple of days at MK. Does this mean we may actually end up there more often, since younger kids go for that park more?

Linda

My kids enjoy all of the parks, but we do spend more time at MK. Since we usually stay at an MK resort, we go for 3 or 4 mornings during a 7 day stay. And at least one evening for spectro and wishes.

We do one day at MGM, one day at AK, and 1 1/2 days at epcot, sometimes 2 days.

We don't do the waterparks, usually because I find it hard to keep up with 3 kids who are too young to wander off on their own. (And this trip we had 4 kids with our nephew). Instead, we just hang out at the resort pool.

We also do lots of character meals, and many of those are around the MK area. (1900 Park Fair, Ohanas, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern).

I hope you plan on putting your left over vouchers up for sale on EBay. Maybe you can recoup some of your money!

What is a "Quick and Casual Voucher"??? I am staying at Coronado and I noticed you said they are accepted at Pepper Market.

Thanks,

Erica

Glad to hear you had a nice trip :earsgirl: . We've stayed at the Poly twice and Love being on the monorail- especially with little ones.
DH & I are going in 21 days(but whose counting)-no kids  . Celebrating our b-days and wedding anniv.(16 yrs.) .
If you are interested in getting rid of your Q&C vouchers- PM me. I like to carry them instead of cash and we get our moneys worth at Beaches&Cream and a couple other places.

Thanks,
Cindy :wave2:
