Just back last night.. any questions... was in room 2663... with balcony facing the beach pool.... thanks...party of six...amy

was it crowded....more details about the HOtel....

how were the restaurants...

I am trying to pick this hotel or stay with HRH...

thanks!

Okay, corvair...

YOU were the reason I didn't get the covetted 2663, huh???

I had it on my room requests and the nice lady at the front desk told me that it was already occupied... so I got 2664! We faced the other pool but he view was just incredible!

We were neighbors this weekend! :teeth:
I checked out Monday.

it was not crowded. the restaurants were very good... Mama dellas is the best...loved it...so did my kids...10-13... the pool is very nice. service is great... you could walk very easy from the HRH... we did walk from PBH but was a good walk...boats were kind of slow...amy

robin,... we checked in on Sat... when did you check in... we left yesterday...amy

Amy i'm glad you got "our" room.LOL I'm glad I did'nt disappoint you. I told you mama's was worth it. Have you posted a full report yet? I can't wait to read it. I am so happy you liked the resort and I did'nt mislead you over HRH.

Welcome back Amy! Glad you had a good trip:) I think its funny you were both requesting the same room a day apart! The desk must have been  The word is out Tammy and you may never get "your" room again!:p Just teasing.

amy is 2663 considered a pool view room?we have a standard garden view room reserved with an entertainment rate($155)but a pool view rate is $180 and if there was a chance i could get that room with a balconey i would probably upgrade for that room.thanks

I didn't request a room number... but this is the room i was hoping for.... i just said close to elevator , facing beach pool with balcony if possible... it was truely wonderful.. We ate at mamas our last night... my13 year old DD said why didn't eat here before... she can not wait to go back... we had turn down service without asking... we had dinner at the place beside mamas with the TV the night before... my 10 year old DD loved that... she was so tired... she laid out on the bean bags and watched cartoons... thanks...amy.... front of the line was the best.......

so tammy that would be one upgrade from garden view?and the other balconey rooms they have are also beach pool deluxe?
we are going in august for 4 nights and are thinking about upgrading just to try to get a balconey.we have a loews card but it's only a blue one and i know we probably won't get a free upgrade so i was thinking about upgrading.
we we're thinking about having a balconey for when the kids go to sleep we could go out there and have a drink and talk instead of having to go to sleep also.
do you think it is worth it?

The Upgrade from garden is bay and from there is del pool view rooms then suites.

The Resort only has a few balcony rooms various views they are NOT all pool view. They only have 22 I believe w/ balcony's some are just walk out balcony's some have a table and two chairs and some are a tick larger called terraces.

If you would be happy with a garden view (the views are all wonderful in my opinon. The couryard is amazing there). I would not upgrade just to try to get a balcony. Just call the hotel and make your request. Room 2674 is a queen room w/a balcony over looking the villa pool. It's dead center and has an awesome view very close to the elevators. I would call the hotel and requst that room as a lowes blue member your entitled if a deluxe is avail to have it. If your turned down at check in for that room which i doubt would happen. I would ask for any balcony room, then ask for a ground floor room. Have FUN!

so tammy room 2674 is a deluxe pool view room?
my other queston is i signed up and got my loews blue card after i booked my room with the entertainment rate.i was just going to call and add my loews number on my reservation but i saw a thread on the boards about someone saying they wouldn't be able to get the blue benifits because they booked an ent rate.then someone replyed that they gave the gave them there loews number at checkin and had no problem when using ent rate.so i was thinking about waiting until i got there and then show them my loews card.what do you think?is there someone there at the desk you might know that would be able to help?
thanks again.
p.s. how are the triplets?

I must have misread Robinrs post when she checked in - I thought she checked in on Saturday.

But if you were there Saturday night, Corvair, I have to ask you this: did you get a fire alarm around four in the morning, or was it just the lower floors (we were on the fifth)?

puppy,, i did not hear any fire alarms on the 6th floor... where was your room located..amy

We were in 2583. At about four in the morning, a prerecorded voice started going off in our room stating that an alarm of some sort had been triggered. I assume they didn't set off a REAL fire alarm because it was merely a sensor on a fire extinguisher holder and the smoke alarms weren't picking up anything.

The prerecorded thing lasted for about a full twenty minutes. By the time it quit, people were reciting it along with the recording. I was a little too happy (them Pat O'Brien's Hurricanes sure are yummy!), so I can't remember exactly how it went.

We went down to the third floor and sat out on a balcony overlooking the harbor and a gentleman in a coat and tie (manager, I would assume) and a maintenance guy came by. They told us everything was clear and we could return to our rooms whenever we wanted to. It turned out that someone got a little stupid and wanted to play with a fire extinguisher on the fourth floor. On the way back up to the room, we walked along the fourth floor and could clearly see powder on the floor where I guess they were spraying the extinguisher (it was near an ice machine between the pool elevator and the harbor elevator).

I'm really intrigued that the sixth floor didn't get the alarm at all. It didn't really bother me - it wasn't the resort's fault, and it sure makes for a fun little story.

Tammy, I pm'd to tell you that I called and could not get your room. But I was upgraded from garden to bay room. Should I ask for a specific one? Will I like bay? Okay, **shoot me if you have to** but, what is the bay? Is that the big lagoon liking thing that shows in all the advertising pictures?

Cindy that's bay view it over looks the bay and the piazza and there's nothing wrong with it. There are some nice views to be had there. I enjoy staying in the main hotel. It's nice to get on the boats from those rooms minimal walking and great views. Your like right above the resturants and the elevators drop you off a short walk to the boat i mean less than a minute. I don't remember what's what but 2000,2001,2002 was our villa suite. I can't remember which number is what. There is a king room and queen room w/2 bed on either side and the villa parlor in the middle. You could call the hotel directly and ask for them. The king room had a walk out balcony (no chairs) you could stand on it but it's rather small the queen room had no balcony the villa area had a walk out balcony as well.

Thanks Tammy. You are always so helpful! When I check in I will ask if I have a balcony. The idea of minimal walking on our short visit sounds great!
