Hi everyone! We just got back from 3 days on the Wonder and one night at the Dolphin.
A few notes:
We were in Category 10, stateroom 2147. This was our first time in an inside cabin. It was larger than we thought it would be, but we were glad it was only 3 days. We really missed waking up in the morning and being able to immediately look outside.
The biggest downside of the stateroom was the location. It was 2nd level, aft. So, right by the engines. It was very LOUD! And, when the engines were working hard (i.e., on the way from Canaveral to Nassau the first night) the whole room shook and vibrated, and we practically had to talk loud to hear each other. It was scary sometimes in the middle of the night because it sounded and felt like the ship was coming apart!! I do not recommend that part of the ship at all for a stateroom!
Ok...on to the best part...Palo!!! We had reservations for dinner our first night, and it was so fantastic that we at there again on our third night!! The Portobello Mushroom appetizer, as well as the Warm Shrimp Salad were teriffic starters! Then, the first night I had the Filet Mignon which was fabulous, and DH had the Veal which was also very good! The second night we ate there, I had the Salmon, which wasn't as good but still ok. DH had the Lasagna, which was the best either of us has ever had!! Very different from "normal" lasagna that we make at home! Definitely worth trying! For desserts we had the Chocolate Souffle, Panna Cotta, and Cappucino Cheesecake. All wonderful!
The second night, neither one of us felt like getting dressed for dinner, so we skipped it and just snacked on burgers, etc. by the pool. It was very relaxing!
So, on our final morning, when we went to our assigned breakfast (at Animator's Palate), the servers were very surprised to see us, (and get their tip envelopes!) LOL!
The Cove Cafe--the Adult-only coffeeshop on deck 9--is a terrific addition to the ship! We spent quite a bit of time there -- the lattes, mochacinos, cappucinos, etc. are all great! Extra charge, of course, but so much better than the Nescafe on the rest of the ship.
Any specific questions I can try to answer?
(I didn't mean for this to be a Trip Report -- more like just notes and an offer to answer questions. But, if any of my fellow Mods think this turned into a Trip Report, feel free to move it if you want to!
