Just back from 2 week 1st time trip to Poly

Seaspray certainly is a great reviewer and I am so pleased I discovered these boards about 8 months before we travelled because I learnt so much. I had been to Disney 10 times before this trip and never realised how little I knew until I started reading these threads!!!

It was great to arrive at a resort and know some information in advance.

I contacted Disney directly in July to say that I was concerned about the construction at AKL and even though I had booked with Virgin Holidays, Disney came back and said they couldn't say whether the construction would affect us in November so offered to move us at no extra cost. I was a little disappointed to start with as we had our hearts set on AKL and I had done so much research on it but now having been to the Poly I realise what a fantastic upgrade it was! We are now looking into prices to book again - this time directly with Disney as I think we will save some money.

I think you will be fine - from what I heard they have got on much better than they thought at AKL and there aren't any complaints now about the construction. Have a fantastic holiday - everywhere looks amazing with the Christmas decorations up - particularly Cinderella's Castle - it has never looked so magical

Sweet Pea, We were practically neighbors your first week. We were there Nov 2-10, right upstairs from you in 3101. We did have a parking lot view, but honestly it was great because we could see the monorails going by. My DS3 loved it! He's so obsessed w/ the monorail! That was an awesome location - so easy to get to the TTC or anywhere else. I was worried a bit going there too w/ the reviews on here, but was quite pleased w/ everything - our room was always cleaned nicely, the resort looked beautiful. Everyone was very friendly. Just like you - we now have to work on saving up to go back there! We definitely got spoiled!!
