We stayed in two different rooms. First a standard on the 3rd floor. It was OK, but a looonnnnggg walk to the elevators. Then we stayed on the first floor Rm 8108. This was much better as we could just cut across to get to the pools and not have to trek the halls. This room was also a little bigger than standard as it was a corner room. The size of this room was more comparable to SoG. It was poolside and bayside. Had a window to see bay. Very quiet except it was close to the stairs. If you have any questions I would be happy to help.

Hi Suevee! We will be staying at the CR in Sept. Were you in the North or South wing? I'm pretty sure we will be in the South wing on the second floor (non-smoking). We prefer a quieter room, so I am going to request a room in the back overlooking the water. About how long do you think it takes to walk to the food court from that location? Did you eat at the Concorse Steakhouse? How was the bus transportation? Was your room nice? Looking forward to anything you can tell me about the CR. Can't wait to get there!!!

Luvnwdwgal, we stayed in the South Wing when we were there in January in a non smoking 3rd floor room overlooking Bay Lake. It was VERY quiet, and not near stairs. Our room number was 6317, if you are interested.

We didn't find it to be a long walk to the main building, and the South building is closer to the pools than the North Building. There are doors at the end of the South wing, as well as in the middle, so if you don't care to walk the hallways, you won't have to. Doing this does cut a couple of minutes off of your walk, however, we didn't think that the corridors were a bad way to go either, since when we were there it was cold and kind of rainy.

I hope you love CR as much as we did!

We stayed in the North Wing, room 8108. It was a first floor corner room, a little larger than standard. It was a long walk to everything. I am used to the much smaller resort of SoG. You will be some distance from the food court since it is closer to the food court. However, the food court is not very good. We didn't take the buses as we were there only 2 days. We did Chief Mickey's for our 7 yr. DGD, so I don't know about the Steakhouse. The monorail was great.

Hi Suevee,

I'm going to CR on Father's Day. Our family is also a SOG relocation. What didn't you like about the food court? We are hoping to have breakfast there a couple of days. Would you go back to CR?

Thanks for any input.

Debbie

If you like food courts in general, you'll probably find the Food N' Fun Center at CR to be okay. They have decent breakfast, scrambled eggs and pancakes and bacon and sausage and such along with a full array of your pastries and bagels. Their hamburgers are probably the exact same as any other counter service burger on the property, fries are good. They have pre made cold cut sandwiches and salads and stuff too. I'm not big on this type of food served on paper plates, but I guess it was what you would expect. I think having breakfast there a few times would be ok.

We had breakfast a couple times at Concourse Steakhouse and really liked it. Blueberry pancakes, Mickey waffles, eggs benedict, etc., you might want to give them a try.

Thanks Bob.

We normally like sitdown restaurants and loved the buffet at SOG.

I think we'll try the Concourse a few mornings. We are also thinking on giving Trail's End a try for their breakfast buffet.

Thanks again for the input,

Debbie

We are going back to the CR in February for a much longer visit. This was booked last Feb and involves a lot of people. I would never pay rack rate to stay at the CR. JMHO

For me personally I didn't think the quality or cost of the food in the court was worth it. I felt it better to go off site, splurge at a restaurant, or bring food into the room. We were spoiled with the Evergreen Grill at Sog. On our first night there I got 2 adults chicken fingers with fries, 1 child's chicken fingers with fries, 1 fruit plate, 1 juice box, and 3 bottles of water - total cost - $42. We threw out most of the chicken fingers. UCKKKK! But everyone is different. The monorail and boat access is wonderful!.
