I am just back from going to Disneyland August 17th and 18th. It was my sister and I and we have been to Disneyland several times and we were AP holders for 5 times throughout a 10 year period. This was our first trip back in almost 2 years and wanted to give my thoughts on a few things:
Max Pass - Greatest thing you could ever invest your money into at Disney. Never waited in line for any ride over 10 minutes. Going to be hard to go to Disney World now and not have it. Day one it took a few attempts to realize the right way to do it but ended up with a total of 8 for the day. Second day we had a good idea of the strategy we wanted to use. We got Radiator Springs as soon as we got into the park and went on Toy Story Mania, Incredible Coaster, and Little Mermaid while we waited for our 8:50 FP. Then we got FP for GotG for 9:25 got a FP for Soarin at 10. We then went shopped for my GS gifts and went back to rest at the hotel. Got FP for Star Tours, Space Mountain, Indian Jones while at the hotel and then when we got back we got Big Thunder, Roger Rabbit, and went on Pooh Standby. So in total for day 2 we got 7. We got on every single ride we love and some twice.
GotG (Former ToT) - Thought it was a great ride and loved the difference sequences. I did find I liked it a little better than ToT.
Incredible Coster (Former California Screamin) - I thought this was extremely well done. Loved the theme and story told through out the ride. Have to ride it multiple times to truly enjoy the whole thing and sit on opposite sides.
Frozen - This show was good but very long. Thought the cast was very good and the songs were great. I still prefer Aladdin myself.
Cast Members - I had read a couple people reviews of there trips to Disneyland compared to Disney World and I was a little concerned about it. As someone who lives in California and visits DW often I would like to say that for me I did notice some cast members were not very happy to be there. I noticed that it was based on were they worked. I walked up to Little Mermaid and Roger Rabbit and those CMs didn't even acknowledge us at all as they were to busy with their own conversations. There was no line at all for LM and when I got up to the CM I was meet with a grin because I bothered them.
Luigi's - I thought this ride was great. I loved the ride technology they used and loved the coordinated dance.
I think that was about it for the changes thought I saw. We grabbed some extra maps from both parks in case some fellow DISers would like one. Just PM me and I will mail it out. Overall it was a great trip and put us in a great mood getting ready for our October trip to DW.
