We just got back from 8 days at BWV. It's our home resort but it was our first stay there since we joined in '98.

Coming back to MA was such a drag after spending 8 days in sunny weather with temps in the low 80's

Let me first say that we had an absolutely GREAT time. I had two 2-bedroom units for me and 14 other family members. Our room had a BW view and the other view was of the pool. I know alot of people like the standard view rooms becuase of the point values but for me I would get a BW view room in a second if I have the choice again. It has to b one of the best views at all of Disney!

The thing that surprised us the most was the crowds - or lack of them! Most of our trips in the past have been in October when it's pretty slow. I had been reading how crowded the parks were prior to us leaving on 2/17 and had prepared everyone for massive crowds.

Some of the obvious rides (Mission space, Tower of Terror...) had 40-50 minute waits during certain parts of the day but if you used Speedpass correctly it didn't matter.

MK was crowded in the EMH evening day so we left and came back at 10pm. We stayed until 3am and by 12am we could just walk onto any ride we wanted. My kids did Splash Mountain 6 times in a row without having to get off once!

We also spent a day at Universal Studios and one at Islands of Adventure and found the same crowd levels. Other that the Mummy ride (50min wait) we had 10-15 minute waits on most rides. On our day at Islands we were able to ride Spiderman(4 times), Dueling Dragons(5 times), Bluto(5 times) and the Hulk(5 times).

Of everything on our trip the crowds were the biggest surprise.

I had reserved 3 special events for our group - Fantasmic Dinner package, Grand Gathering Wishes criuse and two pontoon boats for an Illuminations Cruise. All three events were fantastic!!!! Our favorite was the Wishes cruise, followed by Illum. and then Fantasmic.

This was by far the BEST family vacation we have ever taken and if we weren't members it would never have happened.

I am so glad that you had a great time and that you posted about it not being all that crowded! I too have had that experience...I think it was around Thanksgiving one year...when everyone prepared us for massive crowds that never materialized. Ain't it great when that happens!

I'd be interested in hearing a little more about the Wishes fireworks cruise. Do they pipe the music in? Can you bring refreshments aboard? DId it get chilly?

Thanks!

If you book the Wishes cruise through the Grand Gathering (8 people minimum) you get on one of the boats they pipe the music in.

We ate at the Concourse Grille at the Contemporary and then made our outside where they had a dessert buffet set up for everyone on the cruise. They had cookies, cakes and fresh fruit as well as an assortment of drinks.

You then get on your boat about 45 minutes before the fireworks and head out. One of the cast members dressed as a pirate is on board to entertain everyone.

This was the highlight of our trip.

We were across the pond from you! We were at BCV from 2/20-2/25. The weater was great wasn't it!? We are in shock now with temps in the teens tonight.

So you were one of the crazy ones that did EMH til 3am!! I'm impressed! I have two little ones as an excuse but I still couldn't do it without them.

Now to decide when to go back!

My kids are 12 and 13 so they thought the EMH was the best. We had planned on a down day the day after so everyone slept until noon!
