We got back on Monday night. Saturday, we went to AK hoping against hope that we'd be able to ride EE.....and we did!!!! Three times!!! No waits!!!

It's a great ride. Not as scary as I thought it would be. Anyway, it seems to be open to everyone now. This will definitely add crowds to the AK!!

All questions welcomed....

I'd love to hear more! Yesterday they released a high-quality, downloadable video of the whole ride, available at:

Expedition Everest Ride Video

My first reaction after watching the video was that EE was more like Big Thunder Mountain than any other ride...beautifully done, but not as scary as I expected. Of course, the "backwards-in-the-dark" part of the ride could only be heard, not seen...what's that part like? And are there any huge drops (based on the video, it didn't seem as if there were).

How do you think EE stacks up against the major thrill rides at the 3 other WDW parks?

well, technically it's not OPEN. the official opening is April 7th, so don't depends on being able to ride it before then. They're doing what's called a soft opening and testing out for a few hours or even all day for a bunch fo days in february and possibly march (this is what i've been told, anyways). But hopefully everyone gets to ride it, it's an awesome ride!

Not too crazy a ride. There is no "big drop" imho. The biggest drop has you going down on a c urve, so it's not so bad. Going backwards, it's pitch black , but I felt we went up a hill in the dark; my son disagreed, so I don't know what to tell you!

I think it's the best coaster. More intense that BTMR, not as fast as R&R coaster, but a lot longer which is nice. It seemed to be about 3 minutes +.

The first time I was so nervous waiting for the drop...and it never came!! Go and enjoy...and you will!!!!

Is it anything like the Mummy at Universal? We did that last year. That was a very smooth ride with excitement. We loved it. We are going to WDW in March just to ride Everest and to do Soarin'! That's 2 rides we've never done!!! Can't wait! :cool1:

That sounds awesome! I can't wait to ride it. Do you reacall how tall you have to be to ride? My DD princess: has said she'd like to ride it, and I wonder if she will be tall enough....She'll be six when we go

Wow it sound like it was a good time to go! Hopefully it will even out the crowds on property a little but probably not.

Just back from a week at the POP. Went over to AK Monday and Tuesday and EE was opened with no lines. Great ride. Definitely a must do. Like TMRR, but better. Much better!

We just got back also. I rode it once and DH and DS went back and rode it twice more. It was awesome!!! Like the others we had no wait times at all!!

lucky lucky lucky you all are who rode

come 3 months from now undoubtedly the lines will be 2 plus hours wait

good for you!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :wizard: :wizard: :thumbsup2

DW and I rode EE last Sunday (Feb 5) at about 3:00 pm. We had a 10 minute wait.

DS and I rode it Saturday morning twice with no lines. Fantastic ride. The backwards drop someone goes uphill! The switching on that ride is superb.

Beware the Yeti!

Hoping to catch EE tomorrow or Friday ~ I can only IMAGINE how crazy long the lines will be in April when it "offically" opens. I have only rode Soarin' once due to crazy long lines since it has opened. I hope to catch that tomorrow as well.

I also rode EE this weekend. It was a great ride, although a bit disorienting when you get off. The dark part of the ride is what did it to me.

We went during the passholder preview and only got to ride it once due to crowds. Looks like we may have to make another trip back soon while the wait times are still low.

We are going for President's week-end and hoping it will be open!!!

Went to ride yesterday and it was down the whole day!!! BUMMER ~ we are going to try today. Crossing my fingers.

The height restriction is 44" so she should be able to ride. I measured my 4 1/2 year old and she is just over the 44" but she is tall for her age. :) Have fun.. I hope its open when we are there in 3 weeks! :)

I just received an email saying EE would be open for preview when we go. My DH will be thrilled!
