Just back... EVERYTHING WORKS

When I think about FP- all I can remember is being frustrated and angry because no matter how early I got to the park based on my groups schedule there were barely any fast passes left. I like picking them out before I go because I can still enjoy a day at Disney without being able to sprint across a park the fastest.

I will say I was confused before I realized it was a zombie thread when one PP posted about having Maelstrom as a FF+ option.

Ummm.....I didn't say it was. I was trying to AGREE with you, the wifi wasn't great.

My statements in this regard are concerning:

Yes, the WDW wifi is not very good or reliable or fast...
But, my luck using the cell data did not improve the situation.

My MDE app was S-L-O-W and glitchy regardless of which way I accessed it.

My reason for mentioning this is that a previous poster (first state**) was paying $50 to get to use cell data on a rented iPhone in hopes of improving the usage over wi-fi.

Again, my recent experience was that I didn't get an improvement using cell data vs. the wifi.

**
I am renting an iPhone for my trip. It is $10 for an iPhone 4s and then $50 for the data plan for the month. I go next week, I figure cell service would be more reliable then in park wifi.

Suvadoo....I, we, all of us, get your counterpoint. FP+, MBs, MM+.....not without issue. Everyone appreciates the valuable perspective I'm certain.

That said, some of those valid observations, like your MB not working, are really nothing new. New systems bring problems, many of which will get resolved. Transport yourself back 30 years. WDW transitions from ticket books to some new fangled card that's going to not only be my key, but it's going to hold my admission media as well. Heck, putting aside the outcry of going to a pay one price ticket (hey, the ticket booked worked great for me, you mean I can't have my e-tickets anymore.....what a lousy company, changing my wonderful experience, gouging us for p-o-p admission!!!), imagine how many tech/ticket issues they had during that change (lousy company, implementing stupid tickets that not only ruined my experience, but they don't work!!!).

Really, while there many a valid knock out there, some of the arguments against FP+ get back to that D word when kept in perspective.....

Not everyone has theirs working unfortunately. My MDE account is so glitched that 5 people from guest relations spent over an hour trying to get my annual pass to recognize my fastpass bookings to no avail. It had to be escalated to a supervisor at disneys IT department and they said they hope I will be able to use fastpass by my next visit but they are not sure. There is a glitch on my account they have never seen before. They even had to refund and then rwcharge my annual and that did not work either. Because of this I have to go to guest relations each morning or any time I want to transfer parks to get special paper tickets made up. I am grateful the CMs did everything they could to help, but spending over an hour trying to figure out the issue and needing IT to fix my account which will take hopefully a month really left a bad taste in my mouth about FP+. I am an isolated case but it is extremely annoying nonetheless. & a magic band is now useless for me minus photopass because of the issue.

This sounds frustrating. I wonder why they didn't make you a new MDE account that isn't glitchy and just move forward that way for you while they figure out the glitch? Seems like that would be the simplest solution for the guest. I'm going to go out a limb and say that the bigger problem is the lack of technical expertise that exists at the parks themselves. With such a technical system, it seems wise to have some expertise onsite who could, at the very least, ensure that the guest experience isn't impacted by technical difficulties. We have used fp+ since the testing phase. We have had a few glitches but nothing that impacted our vacation to any significant degree.

Over all I like this system a lot but pre-planning is in my nature. I'm hopeful that the OPs experience is more the norm these days.

This is a Zombie Thread from last year.

Then why does is say it was posted: Yesterday, 08:11 PM?

Where does it say that?

On the blue header above the post on the left side. Above the poster's name.

I don't know in which post you could be seeing that.

The ORIGINAL post (post #1, the thread starter) was put up by linkskypens on 05-22-2014, at 10:14 AM Eastern Time.

Then, the thread "died" at post #35 on 05-23-2014, at 06:08 PM Eastern Time.

This morning at 5:45AM Eastern Time (yes, I happened to be up and tuned-in at that time) the OP linkskypens brought the thread back to life.

So, posters who are responding to the first 35 posts of this thread
may not know that it is 7 months out-of-date.

If you are seeing that the original post was made at 8:11 yesterday,
your computer's clock may be very wrong.

We went to WDW this past Christmas/New Years and the FP+ system worked very well for us even during that insanely busy time of the year. I picked three rides that traditionally have the longest wait times (the mountains), which would save us the most time. For a 4th and subsequent FP+ I just chose whatever was available, knowing that any FP would save us time otherwise spent in line. Some days it we had good picks, other days not so much. Changing rides or times also worked well, again depending on availability. The availability of rides was probably comparable to past years at that busy time, so I can't blame it on FP+. I was a bit nervous about the new system, as I had read that people were having serious issues with their bands, but they worked well for us. I am glad they are ironing out the kinks.

I understand what you're saying. I'm a moron who deserves to be put in my place because I don't agree with you. I also understand that hyperbole only applies to posters of threads that you personally disagree with. I also understand that you are great and wise and all knowing. I, on the other hand, live in bitter town and deserve to be verbally abused by you at any given time. I undrestand, no need for further clarification.

Robo.....point taken, and a good one. Didn't mean to imply data will cure all ills.

I finally had a V-8moment! Your'e talking about this thread being from 5/22/14! I thought you were talking about the thread that I copied and pasted into my response! Took me long enough. Thanks for being so patient with me.

You have been taught well, young Padawan!

Ignore point (tech issues have always existed and are not unique to MBs) and play the P card! Well done.....well done! Bravo!!!

Suvadoo, you make many good points, and you provide a valuable perspective. I mean that, sincerely. Doesn't mean I have to accept every point you make, nor you mine. IMHO you try to hard sometimes, but aren't we all guilty of that!!

How's about we both dial down the snark meter?

Where are the kiosks located to reserve additional fp?

The FP+ kiosks can be found at various locations in each park.

The PROBLEM is (and why I don't have maps that show the locations)
is that Disney keeps CHANGING where these locations are.

You can find (if you only do some basic searches) some lists made of these FP+ kiosk locations.
But, as I said, the locations can change at any time, so the lists may or may not be correct
during your days in the parks.

And...

The FP+ kiosks move (appear and disappear) so frequently in the parks that asking a CM who is IN a given park where to find a kiosk can get you some very wrong answers.

It's maddening!

No, you've made your point on numerous threads and on multiple occassions. I am an idiot and you are all knowing. You are the superior person on these boards and I am truly surprised that you even deign to reply to me since what I post is so lowly. I understand, as I've said before. You are absolutely fabulous and I am a drooling imbecile who lives in Bitter Town.
And thanks for including another personal attack in this post. I'll add it to my list of flaws:
I try too hard to make my points, I say things that are beneath me, I use hyperbole. Anything else you want to add?

Wow. K...

While I do know everything ;), I never said or implied you were stupid or anything like that. We all choose a bad argument now and again, myself included, but it doesn't make anyone an imbecile.

But, ok.

What are "P card" and "D word"?:confused3

LOVE their beats!

Where are the kiosks located to reserve additional fp?

Currently, AK only has one, at Guest Services at the very front of the park. Subject to change, of course.

You'll have to hunt for others at the other parks. They keep getting moved and are slowly disappearing.
