Cast of Characters: Me (31), DH (33), DS (9), DD (8)
June 22:
Arrival day. We had our traditional first meal at 'Ohana. As always, wonderful! We were seated pretty much right away at a fairly good table. David was a wonderful server. As usual, everything from the appetizers to the meats to the pineapple with caramel was wonderful!
We were lucky enough to get in both the Coconut races and the Hula Hoop contest too!
June 23:
8am Crystal Palace. I made this ressie to be in the park before it opened so we had a jump start on the day. Loved the breakfast lasagna and the cheesy bacon potatoes. Yum Yum Yum! Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet all came in short order and were not rushed! This is definitely a must-do!
Dinner was at the new Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershus. I went in with an open mind knowing the menu had changed. I have to say...I didn't like it, but the rest of my family did. Loved the bread basket that came with the appetizers - we actually asked for a second bread basket the selection was that good. The appetizers were different, but I liked the shrimp well enough and some of the cheeses. I ordered the Lamb and it was just too gamey for me. DH had the Venison. We switched and he loved the lamb. I was ok with his Venison. I guess I shouldn't be a game meat person. DD had the grilled chicken and it all disappeared. DS was in a mood and didn't want his hot dog. As it is, we won't be going back, but we are glad we tried it once. We saw Cinderella, Esmerelda, Aurora, Ariel and Belle.
June 24:
We did breakfast at the POR food court and dinner at Boatwright's, also at POR. It was okay, but nothing to really wrote home about.
June 25:
Mostly in the room and counter service before the big party at MGM.
June 26:
Lunch at Red Lobster at Crossroads.
Dinner at Boma, which was fabulous. I had the Carrot Ginger Soup which tasted like Pumpkin Pie. Yum. Of course, the Zebra Domes and all other desserts were great. Loved the rotisseried chicken and pap and prime rib as well. They also had a great field greens salad with 4 different viniagrette dressings.
June 27:
Breakfast at Olivia's at OKW. Great place for an inexpensive meal.
