Just returned Wed. from a great 5 night stay at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas ($88/night thru Hotel kingdom) and 4 nights at Hard Rock. Weather was HOT, HOT and WDW was crowded. I think their Fairy Tale Package picked up their slacking business for sure!

Hard Rock & Universal was great as always. Can't beat that Front of the Line access with on-site stay. Any questions, please ask away!

I am looking into staying at Cypress Pointe Villas for our November trip. We will be saying in a 1 bedroom. what can you tell me about them? Are they spacious? Will my dd's enjoy it there(they are 11&5)? What is it near? I'm anxious to hear anything you can tell me aobut the place. Did you like dealing with Hotelkingdom?

Lizzytish-how far was the walk from your villa to the main-volcano? pool on the resort side??
Thanks!

Cypress Pointe Grand Villas is outside of the Downtown Disney/Crossroads Shopping Plaza area on 535. The next block down from Crossroads is the Sheraton Safari and then the next block after that is the road - Treasure Cay - for CPGV. There is a small plaza there with an Eckerd's Drug Store, Steak-n-Shake, etc.

We had a 2 bed/2 bath and it was very spacious. The "quiet" pool was literally outside the back area of our villa. The volcano pool was about a 3 to 5 minute walk. No big deal at all. There were 2 small "tube" slides at volcano pool which my 11 year old son and 10 year old nephew loved. Lots of chairs there, too. I think you will enjoy the close driving distance to Disney parks and there's lots of restaurants right there, too -- Chili's, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Crab Shack, Steak-n-Shake, Tony Romas for ribs, etc.

We had no problem with Hotelkingdom. When checking into Cypress Pointe, we arrived about 6 pm and we took about 5 mins. to check in. No hidden charges. $50 security fee was held at check in (even though our balance had been paid). No big deal. This was returned at check-out. $1.00 a day for use of safe in room which we used. Just beware, on day of check-out, we checked out about 10 a.m. (check-out time) and lobby was pretty crowded. It took about 15 to 20 minutes but we were not in too much of a hurry (off to Hard Rock!!).

Any more questions, please ask!!

What would be a good building to request at CPGV if you wanted to be close to a pool-nice view, not close to a noisy road.Would you recommend a top floor?
TIA!!!!!:p

Lizzytish - I have a 3 bedroom unit in September - did you get maid service in your unit? Not that it matters but with 7 of us it would be nice - after all it is vacation. :Pinkbounc

Thanks in advance for your information - trying to get all the info I can. Would you stay there again? Of the restaurants that were close - 1) are they within walking distance? 2) what one(s) would you recommend?

First, I would stay there again although -- while we were in Orlando we bought a timeshare at Marriott Grande Vista! Can't wait until next year to go to our new "home"!

I requested about 2 weeks prior a top floor. This way you don't hear the little ones running upstairs (LOL). Upon check in we did get top floor -floor 5. I just checked, we were in 2 bed/2 bath - Section C253A. Section C - just out the back of the villas is one of the "quiet type" pools. The one without the volcano.

You could walk to restaurants. About a 8 - 10 minute walk right down road. Although you would have to cross 535 - that's kind of a busy road so BE CAREFUL. We ate at Chili's (very good) and at Macaroni Grill (also very good).

For the space, washer & dryer, you really can't go wrong with CP Grand Villas. The location is also great - like I said, right outside of Downtown Disney Area hotels.

Love the questions!!

Sorry I forgot - no we did not have maid service. It was no big deal. Made the 5 nights with the 4 of us with the supplied toilet paper, kleenex and paper towels. (Although I did not cook anything - after all, it was my vacation, too!!). Towels I washed every other night so it wasn't really a problem. Threw a few bags of trash in the bin right in front of the building. Just straightened up the beds quickly in the a.m. and off we went to WDW.

Another thought - I believe all of the Grand Villas are set back fromm 535 enough there is no need to worry about busy roads. Just one a.m. (although we were getting ready to leave for parks) it was about 8 a.m. and the landscapers were "buzzing" outside on their mowers!

Lizzytish - Thank you so much for the information - I can't wait to get there - 57 days & counting!!!!!
