I'm sorry I couldn't get to your questions right away. We did not have a coffee maker in the room. I read somewhere that you can request them, but we did not. I would assume that you would have to bring your own coffee packets. We just had our mugs and would fill them down at the Fun and Food center. The mugs were well worth it! (just a tip...if you like half-n-half in your coffee, it's in the little fridge on the right end of the condiments table. They have the non-dairy creamer out where most people will see it, but the cream is in the fridge.)
Also, I filled my mug with hot tea in the afternoons and then just added lots of ice. Yummy, fresh brewed iced tea! And they have lemons in the little fridge with the half-n-half.
As I mentioned before, and Bibbidi has since mentioned, our room was in fine shape. There didn't seem to be anything worn or old. The one thing that was not anywhere to be found was the typical book that you'd find in a hotel room that gives you all the necessary information such as where the ice machines are located, or what numbers you dial to reach certain departments. I needed it one night and couldn't find it...so I called Guest Services and they took care of my questions. Our room was very quiet too. I rarely heard anyone else around us. Just a few walking down the hall once in a while, and they were fairly quiet at that.
The pools were just fine. We didn't use the Bay pool, just the courtyard pool. (my names for them, probably not theirs) The littler kids loved splashing in the fountains and the older ones loved sliding down the big slide. Dh and I enjoyed the hot tubs...and the kids too. The pools are open 24/7 but the lifeguards are only on duty from 7am - 8pm. (no lifeguard at the Bay pool) The slide is only open when the lifeguards are on duty. We used the pools every day that we were there. One day we even just skipped dinner since we were having so much fun at the pool. We grabbed a little bit to eat at the grill around 9pm! We were getting pretty hungry, but nobody wanted to leave to go to dinner, so we stayed.

(and no, we didn't just blow off a PS...we didn't have a PS for that night

)
We chose to walk to the Magic Kingdom one morning since it would take longer to walk over to the monorail and ride it all the way around. It didn't seem to be very far. (but I don't mind walking) We had our 3 yr old with us and she wanted to be carried much of the way, but that was fine. (oh, and it was beginning to rain

) It probably took us 12-15 mins to walk there, counting the stops to put dd down and for her to walk a few steps and then find someone else to carry her

We also walked back to the hotel one night right after SpectroMagic. We were trying to hurry to get out of the park since dd3 and dd7 are terribly afraid of fireworks!

We knew we had 15 mins until they would shoot off the first and we started from the castle! The toughest part was just getting out of the park. Most everyone was staying and we had to weave our way through all the people. We got to the parking lot of the Contemporary when the first burst opened in the sky. DD's were far enough away that they only whined a little bit.

I loved being able to walk to and from the MK!
About being treated differently than other CR guests, I didn't get that feeling at all. I must admit, we didn't have much interaction with the staff while we were there though. We left a "mousekeeping" envelope each day and only on the first day, we had a pretty little bow shape made out of wash cloths on both the vanities in our two rooms. I don't know if the staff changed or they didn't like the amount we were leaving, but we never got anything special again. I don't think it had anything to do with the SOG rate though. The Bellman we extremely helpful when we first got there. He was suggesting all sorts of things and telling us tips about this and that. (most everything he told us, I had already learned on these boards...but it was nice of him to fill us in!

)
When we checked in, I requested a fridge for medicine that my dd's were taking. We were given a medical fridge at no charge. It was the size of a six-pack cooler. It was plenty big enough for our meds. I had brought a collapsable cooler for our food. I did put a few extra things in the fridge, but only because there was room. I didn't need to. The cooler worked very well. We just filled it each night and morning.
Bibbidi! Cool! You were in our room!

We got back some time ago. This post didn't get any responses for a couple weeks and then BethA dug it out of the depths of the threads!

I'm happy to answer any questions that I can. I'm glad BethA found it.
I didn't know of any specific requests and I didn't post to ask about which rooms we should request, so we just took our chances. The only request was noted on the reservations and it was for non-smoking, connecting rooms. I didn't want to mess up our chance of getting connecting rooms by making other requests. We were happy enough with our room.
Any more questions? I'd be happy to share what we experienced. I'm certainly not an expert, but I will do my best.
Lisa
