Just back from BLT…12/9-12/17, total of nine days, eight nights!
The good…
Room location (Lake View) 7544 which is a short hallway walk to the sky bridge to Contemporary,
Staff was excellent and tried to remedy issues.
Kids loved both pools and outdoor activities…giant chessboard, pool tables, etc.
Walking to MK!!!

The bad…
Dishwasher, disgusting chalky interior that never went away, even with repeated cleaning by myself, housekeeping and maintenance during our nine day stay. On day 8, after washing our dishes by hand all week, they told us a new dishwasher was being delivered. So if you’re in 5744 now, I hope that happened.
Lots of wear and tear in room…drawers that don’t close, casters on ottoman cracking and leaving bits on rug…not great with eighteen month old who always finds wrong things to put in her mouth!

All said, Disney is magical at Christmastime!

We have only stayed in bigger villas about a dozen times, but never had a dishwasher that worked great. I'm not sure if it's wear and tear and buying junk to start with.

The toaster we had in a studio had to cost about $2.

That and BLT is about year or more late for rehab…not happening until 2024 now!

Winner winner chicken dinner. Most appliances they install are not made for quality.

We couldn't figure out how to get the DW to run - so we just left the dirty stuff in there. Luckily for us, being just two people, we never ran out.

We had a dishwasher fail at THV and they had it replaced with a new one in less than 2 hours. This was like 7 or 8 pm, pretty impressive!

Hopefully they did replace the dishwasher before the next guests. But based on my microwave experience at BWV, I have my doubts. Took 5-6 calls, a visit to the front desk, and maintenance out 3-4 times to finally get a new one. And the one we had was truly possessed and did not work right at all. Buttons were selective about working and it started beeping and would not stop no matter what was done.

FWIW - Marriott is no different. I worked on the design for the Newport Coast timeshare buildings. The view is amazing, the grounds well-kept, but the appliances! The dishwashers were loud when the installed them and surely didn't get better. Washers and dryers were barely passable, refrigerators stuck out - should have been (admittedly pricey) counter-depth for the space the architect gave them. Most galling to me was the ceiling fans were dirt cheap. Hey Marriott - it's THE FIRST thing you see when you open your eyes in the morning. That wobbly, wish it was as good as Home Depot nonsense you hung above the bed is pretty glaringly bad!

I guess they don't expect us to actually use the things...

We just stayed (12/3-12/10) in 7312 in BLT, a 1-bedroom standard view and I have to agree with your review of the room. We love BLT but I don't think we'll return until the refurbishment is done. Our dishwasher worked but had pieces broken off of it, I don't know if they were important or not!

But worse was the sleeper sofa, which I had the unfortunate experience of sleeping on all week...it was awful! After the first night, I called housekeeping to ask for an egg crate to be brought up but it didn't help. I couldn't wait to get home to my own bed to sleep! I really hope they add those wall beds with the refurbishment!

We were there back in Oct and found our DW to be filthy nasty. We used it twice and realized it was leaving a bad taste in the cups, so we handwashed everything for the remaining days. Our DD had a room for her family, same thing

That was our issue the chalky residue was not only all on the inside but was on our dishes even after I ran two cycles with just water and no detergent. It was pretty gross!

Also, After reporting it several times cast member at desk told me she heard this was an issue.

As a point of reference, we were just there in March and had no issues!

We were just two in a one bedroom, so we just hand washed the same two plates, cups, glassses. But then were really didn’t cook. More heat and serve. If I had cook, the dishwasher would have been more important.

I assume you transposed two numbers?

Totally agree! We stayed in a 2 bedroom last year & said Never again until refurb happened!
