We just returned from our trip (we followed our son's high school band) and I just wanted to comment on here about what a great time we had at Universal Studios. We were at the studios for one day on December 28, we arrived at the gates at about 7:45 am and they opened about 5 minutes after that, there were very few people at the gates waiting for park opening. We did Shrek (loved it) no wait, twister no wait, my husband did the Mummy with no wait, Terminator no wait, ET no wait and Men in Black 20-30 minute wait, and then ate lunch between 11 and 11:30. After lunch we rode Jaws with a 50 minute wait posted but I dont think it was that long. It's been about 6 years since we've been to Universal and I wanted to say that we really enjoyed our day, everything was very clean and the employees (dont know if they are called cast members here) were very friendly and helpful. While waiting for the Macy's parade (and our son's band) we visited with a very friendly employee that was keeping the streets free of garbage, we received 2 express passes from him that were good for a party of 6. After the parade we were able to use these passes over and over because they never tore them or took them from us (that was magical) we were able to see Shrek again, the Mummy twice, Men in Black and we also saw the Fear Factor show. We had a magical time at Universal and for anyone thinking about the week between Christmas and New Years it can be done!

it was refreshing to read your report.

i am glad you had a great time there.
i have never been at the holiday time but sounds like it was smooth for you.

Glad to hear you loved it! I'll be back in 19 days and can't wait to stay at RPR.
By the way, what does your son play in band? Did they like marching in the USF Macy's parade?

He plays the seusaphone, dont know if I spelled that right. They loved marching in the parade, it was a great experience. He still says that day was his favorite!

Great report.
Very smart to show up early. That's why you got on all the rides with no wait. Then you went to lunch early, which was also smart, because you didn't have to wait long for your food, and there wern't many people making noise near you.
The good start to your day carried over into the evening.

This is exactly what I tell others to do, show up early.
I can just tell, the moment I start reading a report. If the people say they got there early, I know the rest is going to be great. If they say they showed up at 11am, then I know it's going to be bad.
