We just returned from our trip (we followed our son's high school band) and I just wanted to comment on here about what a great time we had at Universal Studios. We were at the studios for one day on December 28, we arrived at the gates at about 7:45 am and they opened about 5 minutes after that, there were very few people at the gates waiting for park opening. We did Shrek (loved it) no wait, twister no wait, my husband did the Mummy with no wait, Terminator no wait, ET no wait and Men in Black 20-30 minute wait, and then ate lunch between 11 and 11:30. After lunch we rode Jaws with a 50 minute wait posted but I dont think it was that long. It's been about 6 years since we've been to Universal and I wanted to say that we really enjoyed our day, everything was very clean and the employees (dont know if they are called cast members here) were very friendly and helpful. While waiting for the Macy's parade (and our son's band) we visited with a very friendly employee that was keeping the streets free of garbage, we received 2 express passes from him that were good for a party of 6. After the parade we were able to use these passes over and over because they never tore them or took them from us (that was magical) we were able to see Shrek again, the Mummy twice, Men in Black and we also saw the Fear Factor show. We had a magical time at Universal and for anyone thinking about the week between Christmas and New Years it can be done!
