We had the best time at VB! We had an inn room with an outstanding view! Two nights was optimum time for us!

OKW - we only spent one night here.......but I can see why everyone loves it. Definitely going back!

BCV - well, I may be in the minority, but didn't really care for it! We had a view of the road....the lock on our door kept breaking...and this resort seems to be the least friendly.

We loved our stay at VB last year. We also had an Inn view and being a desert rat, I just could not get enough of that ocean view!!! I wish my DH liked the beach more, so we could include VB in every vacation to Florida! It is a great break from the hustle and bustle of WDW!

DisneyHumbug,
Thanks for the report ;) , we agree about the view and laid back atmosphere at VB. It is 1st class all the way. Thats why we added on there:D
And OKW is our favorite for being on-site at WDW.

Uh-Oh, that doesn't sound good. We'll be at BCV in a couple of months...care to elaborate??

Now that I've been home a few days and have had more time to reflect on BCV, I realized the first thing that got me going and caused me to look at the resort differently. When we were checking in, the CM said "I see someone has a birthday tomorrow"...guess he saw it on his computer screen. I expected something - ANYTHING! - a card? a balloon? - but my DD received nothing. I know when my DB stayed at WL in Jan. he received a bunch of stuff on his birthday.
When we awoke the morning of her birthday....my DS went to get something out of the car. He was able to walk back into the room without using his key! We tried it again, and sure enough the door wouldn't lock. Someone came right up and said he'd stay and fix it - so we were able to leave. When we got back that afternoon, it happened again! At this point, I was concerned that we were in a room without a locking door, so put the deadbolt on. Guess what? We were able to walk into the room when the deadbolt was locked, too!!! Again, CMs came up to the room - they tried to show me how to use my room key DUH! Finally, they realized the lock was not working and had to replace all the guts. Now, we didn't lose a lot of time, but when you're at WDW every minute counts. I expected a phone call or a note saying they were sorry we were inconvenienced. Nothing!
Don't get me wrong - the resort is beautiful and convenience to Epcot can't be beat! But so far I've stayed everywhere except HH and BCV is at the bottom of my list!

I am sorry your stay at BCV wasn't up to par. WHen the BWV first opened you had the opposite problem - the room won't let you in - the green light would go on but the door won't open. (after an hour trying everything including having someone from the front desk come up with me they had to call an engineer to fix it)However I think I prefer it to your problems.

Don't let this turn you off of the BCV - I am really surprise that the manager (if he knew about the problem) didn't offer you another room.

I'm sorry your stay at BCV was not up to your expectations. I would think that it is going to take BCV a few months to work out any problems with this new resort like it does at all the other resorts when they just open.
We just stayed at BW in June and my twins received balloons and cards for their birthday while we were there.

Do you have any helpful suggestions or requests we could make for our stay? We have 2 little ones - a 5 month old & a 2 1/2 year old, so we want this to be as smooth as possible.

We had a problem with opening our door at BCV. Although this time it wasn't their fault. We returned to our room around 10:30 pm on the 4th of July and our door would not unlock. Someone had put a penny in the slot and it couldn't read our card. Had to call the front desk from the Drawing Room. Engineering came about 10 minutes later and got the penny out in about 15-20 minutes. He said they've never come across that problem before. This incident lead to one of the things we disliked about BCV...the dining choices. MK was so crowded for the 4th that we waited to get something to eat. It took about 45 from the time we left MK until we got back to BCV. After we got our door unlocked, found out that Beaches and Cream closed at 11 pm. Thought we'd at least get our mugs refilled. The takeout line was clear out the door - I figured at least a 20 minute wait. We ended up ordering a pizza from room service. There is a small room service menu available after 10 pm. Thankfully room service was pretty quick. We were starving!

DisneyHumbug, I feel badly for your daughter if her expectations were built up somehow. It wouldn't surprise me if a card or something intended for her ended up in a corresponding room number at the Beach Club:confused: . That's the kind of thing I can see easily happening as a sister resort opens up. Hopefully all the bugs with locks etc. will be worked out soon.

We stayed at VB once on cash and for us two nights is probably about right, too.
