Hi

We just got back from a week 4 nights at BCV and 2 at VB - both were fantastic. This was my first time at BCV ans I wasn't expecting to like it very much - and it was great! WE had a studio overlooking the quiet pool with a big balcony - close to the elevator. The room was clean and in good shape. Now we've been to all the DVC resorts and I think I like the BCV studios the best (of the DW resorts). We own at VWL - and I like it there, but I think we'd rather own at BCV. S&B is so great. The kids loved the kiddie pool section and the small slide. Beaches and Cream is so fun - the 5 minute or less walk to Epcot...it's just a really great resort IMO. The crowds were really high -- we were there over NYE and 4th of July this past year - and it honestly didn't feel much different. The weather was perfect though. We did the Family Magic Tour and it was a huge hit with my 7 yo DS. The guide was terrific with kids and we got to go on Mickey's Philharmagic at the end and meet Mickey at the tent (with no wait!). My son said "I've never saved the day before!". ANother year, and he would have definitely been too old for it. Mickey's Philharmagic is wonderful. Didn't get to do Mission Space unfortunately. The other thing that has changed is the backlot tour at MGM because of building for the new stunt show - the whole "Residential street" has been demolished, so you go on a slightly different route to catastrophe canyon. Timekeeper was open - did it 3 times because my son loved it so much. The Halloween party was a blast too. We did it last year as well. Would love to go every year in October.

Did a quick trip to VB - stayed in a garden view room - but it had a pretty good view of the ocean. THey have cut back a lot of the vegetation in front so I think any OV room will have a view - since you can see the ocean just walking in front of the resort. I don't know if they do this every year - we were there for the first time in April and the trees were high. The CM's there are great. The campfire was fun. Kids loved the Unbirthday party. The weather was perfect. My son finally tried the slide and I couldn't get him off it.

Great trip. This is my 7th trip in the past 2.5 years - and every one has been great. It amazes me. That's why I love Disney - sure you'll spend some money - but there is really no other vacations I can almost "guarantee" having a great time.

It sounds like you had a great trip. It is nice to read a good report about BCV.

Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thanks for the report. It is nice hearing good things about BCV for a change. Seems like mostly the ones with negative thoughts post. This was refreshing.

All the negative posts was the reason I wasn't expecting to like it but honestly I can't imagine the expectations people would have to be disappointed by the place. I'm not one who needs the welcome homes but I got them, and with the exception of a rather surly bellhop, everyone was really nice as they are at most Disney resorts. The decor is beautiful and the location is great. I enjoyed it more than Boardwalk - probably because it's smaller. I found the bus transportation to be fine too.

Thanks for sharing a good report on BCV!!! :Pinkbounc

I can't belive Timekeeper was open!!! OMG!!!

I've never seen it open at WDW, I've only seen the DLP version.

Wonder why they finally decided to open it?

Thanks for the report. BCV is the only Disney property we've ever stayed at - twice last year and another trip scheduled for next month. We've been afraid to stay elsewhere because we can't imagine liking another resort as much as it! We are trying OKW for a bit next trip, and I'm sure we'll like it there too. But we'll always have a soft spot for BCV! Glad to hear someone give it a thumbs up.

And thanks for the report on the Family Magic Tour. We are taking it this trip with our 7yo and 4 yo - sounds like we're at the perfect ages for this!!

BTW, what is Timekeeper?

Timekeeper is in the former circlevision theater and still uses the 360 degree screens...the timekeeper robot is voiced by Robin Williams and he sends "9-eye" back thru time - Jules Verne gets involved - it's cute. Lots of Robin Williams one-liners. They closed it after 9-11 I think and now re-open it, like Carousel of Progress - when the crowds are bigger....

The Family Magic Tour probably depends on the guide and how excited/enthusiatic you are about it. Some kids weren't all that into it, but most were...We had Lowell who was a great guide. I don't know how I have missed seeing this tour in the past...the group definitely makes a scene!
