Hey everyone,

Just wanted to post my two cents about the new BCV. My family and I were there from August 3-10th and had a wonderful time. The villa's are very nice, but I still like the charm of my home resort VWL. We stayed in a one bedroom #347 which overlooked the garden, part of epcot (if you could see between the trees) and a small portion of the boardwalk.

The room itself was very nice, and the color combinations were better than expected (I wasn't so sure of that seafoam green). The one thing I will say is that they are making these things smaller and smaller. My guide told me that the living room was about 1 foot shorter all the way around, and you could definitely tell. Also, the horror storys about the air conditioning and bathroom doors are very true.

The quiet pool was very nice, we actually used this more than Storm Along Bay. We did have to call the BCV manager though. The resort is only open a month, but the tiles in the pool were filthy! I couldn't believe it! After three calls and a long wait the manager (Kurt I believe) did come out to address the problem, and finally had some clean the tiles for the next day. But come on? Shouldn't this be something that is checked daily?

Well..I know it probably sounds that I didn't like the BCV's and that is so far from the truth. The facility is a wondeful addition to the DVC family. Hopefully they can just get some of the kinks worked out.

What I will say is that my stay there made me realize how much I really loved my home resort of VLW. Therefore, we made contact with our guide while in Disney and were able to complete a 40 point add on at our own resort, and were able to get our same use year. The papers actually arrived the other day and will be going back tomorrow! :p

Just thought I would add my own two cents.

Can you explain the "horror stories" about the ac and bathroom doors?:(

It is interesting that you had to ask for the pool tiles to be cleaned. We went to Hilton Head this April and at the beach house I saw someone scrubbing the pool tiles every morning that we were there and it looked to me like they were already clean.

I'm hoping that they just haven't worked out all the kinks yet. This is definitely not the type of service that we should expect at a DVC resort.

The horror stories were as follows:

The ac unit in the BCV's work off of motion sensors. There was another thread on these boards where someone else can better explain how they work, but basically you could never get the room to a desired tempratue. You would have the AC set at 68 degrees and one minute you would be cold and the next you would wake up in the midlle of the night sweating. It is really strange. Someone on the board came up with a suggestion of buying a ballon and letting that bounce around all night so as to attract the sensor. Don't know how this worked though?

As for the bathroom - in the one bedroom - there are three doors for the bathroom. One from the master bedroom, one from just off the kitchen and there is a third in the shower/vanity area that goes into the actual bathroom. Also, the showers are those glassed in ones. This is fine if mabye you and your spouse are together, but the bathroom set up just doesn't work if someone is taking a shower and another person need to get into the bathroom (that is unless you and the person in the shower mind seeing each other)! It is just not at all ideal.

If any one else has questions, post them and I will try to respond.

I am here at BCV now. We have no complaints about the thermostat, and as far as the 3 doors in the bathroom area, it is just not a big deal to me. I agree that maybe they could have done something so that one could shower while one was using the bathroom, but they didn't and.... oh well!
I get the feelling sometime that people on this board are LOOKING to find stuff wrong with DVC resorts that aren't their home resort. Is it to convince US or YOU?????
Sorry, just MHO.
Also MHO...
I AM HERE AT BEACH CLUB VILLAS AND LOVING IT!!!!!!

Oh is that all? We stayed in the regular rooms at BC resort and found the same thing with the AC. Didn't really bother me...seemed to cool off just fine
while occupied and it was REALLY HOT during July this year. As for the doors,
I never share the bathroom at home (yes, we only have one!) as we have
glass doors as well. I love the glass, it doesn't blow in on you and allows for maximum light. So I know the door thing won't bother me. Whew, I thought it was something major, LOL.
