Had a quick trip - only Saturday and Sunday in the parks - F&W at EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and MGM EMH. Crowds weren't huge, but got large depending on where and when you were. Ate some really good food and some really not so good food. Nothing was bad, just expected better. Overall, a good trip.

Let me know if there is anything I can answer for you!

Glad you had a good trip! When were you in Epcot and how were the crowds in WS and FW? Many comments of those there recently said weekend crowds at Epcot were awful due to F&W.

We were in Epcot Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Early afternoon was great - low crowds! We pretty much walked on Maelstrom and Rio del Tiempo, saw Reflections of China with only a few other people in the theater. Showed up at just the right time for the free wine tasting at the Australia booth, too! Lines for food were short until around 6:00, and it was like the place exploded. The line for Living with the Land was half an hour, so we just headed back to the WS and the lines for food were spilling out of the ropes. We managed to get into the Biergarten just before nine or we may have starved- it also began raining cats and dogs, so everyone was crammed into the few sheltered spots, including around the food booths. Sunday was a little less crowded than Saturday, but it was the same, with the crowds picking up around 5ish and staying that way until closing.

Oh, forgot to tell you about FW! The stand by lines at Test track stayed at 45 mins and Soarin' at 70 mins pretty much all weekend. They did run out of fastpasses at Soarin' early, but it seemed that most of the time the line wasn't really as long as was posted. Mission:Space was around 20 mins. They have gone to shows on the half hour for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, and there is a new preshow for that. Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Mission:Space, and Test Track were all staying open past 7:00 to get people through.

blueangel - thanks for all the great info and sounds like a good weekend. Looks like you go often - I'm jealous.

Not often enough! There was a three year gap, and then I got a FL resident season pass and decided to use it!

If you're planning a trip soon have a ton of fun!

We're staying at the Dolphin 29/12-7/1. Any 'do's' or 'don'ts'.

How busy were the buses? On another thread a couple of people have said they were extremely busy even after New Year. We are wondering whether to rent a car. :confused3

DH wants to know - 'What was Soarin' like"?

Thanks :wave2:

Soarin is the best ride Disney has ever done in my opinion. The whole audience applauded when it was done. It is really not scary at all--and Disney tosses no tricks into it--you just peacefully "fly" over the scenery which is projected on an IMAX screen. If you get scared either close your eyes or look to the right or left and you can tell you are in a theatre.

I didn't get to ride Soarin'! We were so pressed for time that we skipped it, since we'd be back in December.

The Dolphin was good. We didn't have a bus problem, since we only took one! We used the bus to get to the MK Sunday morning, and it pulled up when we walked out the door. There were only 10ish people waiting for it. The boats were slower than I remembered, but it's a very long walk anywhere. Seriously, you can pretty much see how far it is to EPCOT, double that to get to MGM.

Parents complained the bed was too small (a full, not a queen) and that the pillow tops were rounded so they kept almost falling out. I found my bed to be quite comfy, though the pillows were VERY soft. Bring your own if you are picky (I did).

The lobby was sooo busy - there were tour groups everywhere constantly. I was kind of glad we didn't spend too much time there. We didn't try to eat there either, just went on to where we were going and ate there, but I have heard good things about Fresh.
