This is my new favorite resort, it was wonderful. I just got back yesterday but while I was at WDW the bounceback offer was in the room and I enjoyed the resort so much that I booked the CSR for my stay in December. It is a great rate, $117.00 per night!!!
The themeing of the resort is just great, it is a nice size, walking around the lake was just so relaxing. The way the resort is set up with its different areas you never felt like you were in a large resort, because each area was off in its own section.
The bus service was exceptional, the longest wait I experienced was 15 minutes. Since I was by myself I had a small note book and I would record what time I got to the stop (both coming and going from the parks) and what time the bus pulled up. What was a real plus is that the bus stop in the parks was always close to the exits, so you never had to walk far to your bus stop after a long day at the parks.
I was in Casitas 4, room 4343, my view was a partial view of the parking lot, but I did not mind because the location was fantastic. It was a quick walk to the bus stop,(about a minute) the quiet pool was right around the corner. The walk to the main building with the Pepper Market etc, was just over 5 minutes walking briskly. The walk over the the Dig site was maybe 10 minutes, I did not swim in the main pool, but I walked around the resort each day and timed myself.
The bus stop was stop # 2 and we were usually the first picked up and the first dropped off.
I only ate two meals in the Pepper Market, a breakfast and a dinner, I found it easy to navigate and had no problems with their system. I took my breakfast outside, but I ate my dinner at the table. How nice to have real silverware and plates.
I loved just sitting out at the tables by the lake, it was so peaceful and just made my vacation so enjoyable.
This is a great resort for families, young couples, singles for anyone.
The rooms were a good size, in fact it felt huge after staying in the values my last 2 trips.
While you can see that the resort is ready for a sprucing up it is not run down by any means.
I am looking forward to staying at the CSR again in December. :woohoo:

Welcome back and thank you for your terrific post. You explained perfectly why we are going back for our 7th stay for our 25th wedding anniversary in September!

Welcome back! I was there May 1 to 4 and just loved the peaceful, beautiful grounds and the CMs friendliness. It's definitely my #1 choice.

I cant wait to go! Just spoke with AAA yesterday and we are all set for CSR with free dining!

Question, when you talk about eating outside, is this area close to the pepper market?

And how does the pepper market work? Do you walk around and pick what you want at different stations?

Enjoy!

Yes, it is right outside the back side of the main building.

There is a "patio" area right outside by the lake, you come out of the Pepper Market and then exit the main building. There are tables there and there is also a bar, I think it was called the Laguna Bar. It is a really nice area to sit and relax.
As you enter the Pepper Market, you are given a card, and the CM takes you to your table. Then you go to each station and order what you want, the person at the station then stamps your card with your order, there is a good variety of items to chose from. It really is not that different from other food courts except that the Pepper Market is more like an open market and instead of going to a counter that is against the wall like the CB or the PO resorts, the counters are set up out in the floor area.
Once you get your meal (which is on a real plate) you go back to your table and then the CM comes and takes your drink order and brings your drink to you. Once you are done, as you exit the foodcourt, you give your card to the cashier and she rings up your order.
I know some people complain about the set up but honestly it seems to work the same as any foodcourt except that you are seated and someone brings your drinks, instead of paying as your exit the counter you pay as you exit the foodcourt. You need to walk around to see what is available. Now I was by myself so maybe that is why I had no issues. But I know that when we stayed at the CB you still had to go from counter to counter if the kids or someone in your party wanted something that was not offered at one counter, the Pepper Market is no different in that way.
...
Take a look at Buzz2001's website, he has great information and his pictures are worth a thousand words, you can see the layout and then you can understand what I am trying to say

:surfweb: Thanks for the report, we will be making our second trip to CSR in July, only 47 days away, but who's counting, I AM:banana:

Really? We can get anything we want at teh CS price? Thanks great! Maybe we can save some CS credits by sharing a meal for lunch. Is there anything there that will feed two?

The servings were quite large, I think you could get away sharing with no problem. My hamburger was really big, and it was on a kaiser roll, the amount of fries they wanted to put to put on my plate was amazing, I had to tell the server to only put on about 1/2 of what he was going to give me. You could always use a snack credit for some fruit or something to add to the meal.
