We just returned from the World. I know those that travel with some frequency to WDW have that one trip that just doesn't go as planned. Well, this was mine. We were scheduled at POR 10/1-10/8 with 6 day PHs.

The Good:
POR- love this resort, especially the pool and Yehaa Bob. Housekeeping was wonderful the whole time
Park crowds were manageable
F&W! Only regret we didn't get to experience this to the fullest due to the shortened week
FP+ was great and easy to use
DD finally got to ride Frozen Ever After!
We drove down from Nashville (usually fly) and got some great quality family time
Disney handled our early checkout due to Matthew very well

The Bad:
I got sick Sunday and it just never got better. Ended up on antibiotics and felt poorly most of the trip.
Matthew!!!! We ended up checking out 2 days early and lost 2 park days
The weather pre-Matthew - very wet and lots of heavy rain at times
Lost my wallet- very stressed out over this for a full day before locating it :/

New experiences for our family this trip:
The Boardwalk - kids loved it so much we are planning to stay over there next trip
Yehaa Bob
Muppet Vision 3D
O'hana - had a fabulous meal here and loved the Lapu Lapu and bread pudding
Typhoon Lagoon - why have we not done this before? Kids had a fantastic time - loved the wave pool and Crushin'Gusher
Driving down instead of flying - this ended up being a godsend when the storm hit as we were able to easily leave

All in all it was fun, just more mishaps than previous trips, all out of anyone's control. Disney did credit me the two nights for checking out early. Since we booked with a TA I was told to contact her regarding the unused park tickets. I am still working on that one.

Sadly, we won't be back until likely 2018. I have promised DH a beach trip and kids want to try Universal next year so hoping for March 2018.

Cheers to all of you who are still there - if this had happened on the first end of our trip, we likely would have ridden it out with you!

The Muppet attraction - glad we saw this since it is moving

I don't remember hearing this before. Where are they going? The old Toy Story Pizza planet right there next to it is becoming a Muppet themed restaurant. Why would they move the attraction?

I have never heard that the Muppet attraction is moving. Do you know the source that you got this info. I know the DIS Team hasn't said that to my knowledge.

My understanding is it's moving to Liberty Sq. I'll have to look for the source.

You are talking about the new Muppets show that debuted at the Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square last weekend. It's a show about American History that incorporates the Muppets humor. The Muppet Vision 3D should still be staying in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

we were there too during same time frame
Loved Ohana too.. we made it our last dinner and was total success
we got out last flight before all flights cancelled

never got to see fFE - but there is always next time
did get to do Soaring - was fantastic - highly recommend
Glad you got home safe and wish the best for the guests still riding out the storm

And you are correct. I don't follow Disney news daily and misspoke. Apologies.

Yep. Here is a video of one of the shows. They also have a Paul Revere show.

I would also like to say that I'm glad to hear you got home safe. I watched the news where I live the past couple days non-stop hoping everyone at WDW and living in all of the states effected would be safe.

There is a good chance you will get replacement park admission, in the form of non-upgradable tickets.

This will permit you to come back and finish your vacation later. But if you combine the remains of the old vacation with a new vacation, the way ticket prices are computed can make the dent in your overall ticket budget afforded by the replacement tickets to seem very small, like as little as twelve dollars per day per person.

What you will hopefully get and be able to do is receive two day tickets for the lost days. That could maybe allow you to add some time at WDW to your future Universal trip! Sorry your trip had so many issues, but your attitude about it is admirable!
