Just "back" (small pit stop in middle GA for concert then on to home in the morning) from an 8 nite trip 10/29 - 10/8, and I hope I have some useful info for those about to head out.
A- Crowds Sun. - Thurs. (we were at MK Sat. 10/1) were as always on the low end of moderate. I almost felt like it was little lighter this year as compared to last. FP was only really needed for TSM (if you wanted to ride twice), and Soarin' (same deal). We were able to ride/see everything else we wanted to do standby. Friday at MK was a different story.
B- Friday, 10/7 at MK. Busier than I expected considering there was a party that night. Never saw a wait less than 30 min. on Jungle Cruise. To be fair we had attended MNSSHP on Thurs. so slept in and then had a late b'fast reservation at Chef Mickey, so we didn't get to the park until somewhere between 12:30 and 1:00. IASW had a 30 min. wait when we first went over to ride it. Again to be fair, there had a been a pretty substantial downpour before we arrived, so I'm sure much of the wait at that point could be attributed to people who had sought refuge. We bailed and came back a bit later, and the wait was still at 20 min. We still accomplished all we wanted to accomplish, so it wasn't crazy crowded or anything. Just more crowded than I expected for a party day.
C- MNSSHP- Went 10/6 and it was far more crowded than the same party last year. Character lines were very busy all night. Candy lines appeared crowded, but they did a great job and keeping them moving. We were usually through the line in just a matter of two or three minutes. We arrived around 6:00, hit the Emporium to return an item then headed over to check out the Princess meet and greet situation. A line was already forming at 6:20, there were a dozen groups in front of us. So there we sat until 7:00. Contrary to what a CM working the "regular" princess meet line told us, they did take the line waiting for the princes and princesses back seperate and kept us seperate from the "regular" group. You had to show a your wristband to join the line. The CM working the regular line told us, there was no advantage to lining up, b/c they didn't make a distinction between those waiting for the MNSSHP meet.
The monorail appeared to be running at the end of the party. I saw one train pull out of the MK station. It appeared to be running on the resort line. I didn't see any buses for the TTC, and the ferry line was suprisingly light at 11:45. It wasn't even backed up off the dock. There were a lot of people still in MK though. We took the bus to our resort and bravo to Disney on the bus service! We were staying at AKL. A bus was pulling out just as we got to the AKL stop. Within the next 10 min. another bus pulled up. That one filled up just before we made it to the front of the line, and no joke, two minutes later another bus pulled up. Never had that experience. It was wonderful.
D- F&W- We did our eating on Thurs. 10/6. There were a good number of people in the World Showcase, but the lines for the kiosks moved quickly. Some were long, some were empty. It was all in just when you hit the particular kiosk. I would say the Hawaii kiosk is not to be missed! That pork slider was delish!! The poke-seaweed salad was also very good. Watch out for the Singapore Sling at the Singapore kiosk. That sucker is potent! It is also extremely sweet. I could only take a few sips and had to toss it.
E- Nightly Fantasmic- We went on Tues. 10/4. When we originally were planning this was a non-Fantasmic day. There was one show at 8:00. We arrived at the theater 15 min. before show time and easily got a seat for the show. Not prime seating, but a seat. We were in the second section from the end on the left side.
