Here is where we ate during our 4 day stay and our thoughts on each:

Biergarten dinner - This was so good. It is my new favorite! Loved the food, loved the entertainment. I can not wait to go back. Kids (5, 9, 12) all agreed too.
BOG PPO breakfast - food was good and quick. Arrived at 8AM, was out by 8:45. Got to ride the Mine Train ride once without any wait.
Boma Breakfast - This was super delicious. We took the bus to Animal Kingdom did Animal Kingdom from 9-10:15 and then jumped on a bus to AKL and made it to Boma by our 11AM reservation. I would do this again as well.
Teppan Edo dinner - We got to our reservation 10 min early, and then had to wait a total of 30 min to be seated. Dinner was good, but very slow, and while our chef prepared the food well, she was not particularly entertaining to watch. My husband has a food allergy so they had to cook his food first, so he was about done his food before we had even been served ours. This frustrated the kids. Overall, food was tasty, but I may not immediately rush to go back.
Pecos Bill lunch - Nachos were great, and the condiment bar was well stocked with everything needed for the nachos. The churros for dessert were a nice touch too.
Arkershus dinner - food was good - really good actually. My girls loved the salad buffet. The princess interaction seemed rushed and was nothing special, but I would eat here again for the food.
Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie lunch - we grabbed sandwiches and desserts to go and they did a great job packing them up. Food was good and the desserts were awesome.

Overall, we had great dining experiences. We had the dining plan. It was a lot of food, but super fun, and the sit down meals were welcomed rest time between activities. The refillable mugs were useful, but we we used this primarily for water at the resort.

We just got back recently as well and I agree with you about Akershus. We loved the cold buffet appetizer but the character interaction was completely blah. We will never do it again.

Hi KJTex. Can I ask a question for you about your Teppan Edo meal? We are going there for a lunch and my DD9 has Celiac. I'm not sure what your husband's allergy is, but did they clean the grill before cooking his food? Is that what caused the delay? There is such a risk of contamination with soy sauce, but DD loves (and misses) Japanese food. So we were hoping this would be a great option for her. Any details on your experience would be most appreciated!

I'm not the OP, but when my DGD needed consideration due to allergies, the Chef cleaned the grill thoroughly, cooked her food first and then cooked our meal after. At no time did her food contact anyone else's. If you need to have an allergy addressed in DIsney, it is taken seriously, a Chef there once told me they ae trained in 40 diffeent food borne allergies. Anyway, you will need to be prepared to wait in a restaurant like Teppan Edu because all the food I'd cooked on the same grill for the entire table. THe OP's children were frustrated, which is understandable, but I think the wait was understandable.

In traditional kitchens in Disney the Chef I spoke to told me that they have a dedicated area for "allergy" meals. It may take longer but you are not sitting there watching one person eat while you wait, as happened in the "open" grill at Teppan Edu.

I also felt rushed in Ackershurs the last time I was there, now its going up to 2 credits on the dining plan, I may not go back, charging me double and rushing the princesses through is not acceptable, im not happy about this , at one time this was my favorite place to go , see my daughter and niece with the princesses , disney keeps pushing me out the door and im real close to making my next trip a universal trip , were they dont screw you with a smile on there face, Walt is turning in his grave because he knows disney is taking advantage of HIS customers.I think disney just wants the 1 percenters

We always choose breakfast, which may make a difference. I think my girls liked this restaurant more than CRT which surprised me. I will not pay 2 cedits though, ever.

Yes, they cleaned the grill first. Cooked his food completely and gave it to him. Then cleaned the grill again and started cooking everyone else's food. They were overly cautious. The manager came out before hand and explained what he could eat, what was in each of the dishes, sauces, etc... It was quite a process. It took longer for the rest of us, but glad my husband could join us without worries of cross-contamination. All of the Disney restaurants spent a lot of time with my husband explaining options to accommodate his allergies. In fact at Boma, one of the Chef's even walked around the buffet line with my husband.

I would never use 2 credits for that. Only one of the princesses even acknowledged by 12 year old son sitting at the table. The others just signed our 2 autograph books, took a photo with my 2 daughters and left.

Used to go to the PSB there. Very expensive and super slow service.

Sounds like you guys had a nice time. We too love Biergarten and their unique menu.

This is why we are doubly excited for our trip! Thank you for sharing for your experiences.

I cannot find a single document about Akershus going to two credits. Tell me more???? Is this true? If so, when????

We tried Biergarten our last trip and loved it. We're excited to try Teppan Edo this year. Sounds like over all you had some good dining experiences. Thanks for sharing!

We did Boma breakfast in January for the first time and I LOVED it! DH thought it was just ok but he's not a big breakfast eater anyway. We didn't have the kids with us that trip but we will in Nov. and I've tried SO hard to fit Boma breakfast in again, but it's not working :( I think they'd enjoy it and I'm dying for some of that French toast bread pudding :goodvibes I swear I'm going to keep playing around with our days until it fits in lol.

Sounds like you really enjoyed your food! Hope you had a good trip as well.

To add to what others have said, they will also offer to cook the meal in the kitchen rather than at the table. I know having it done at the table is fun but it might be safer to have hers cooked in the kitchen and she can watch the chef cook the other meals at the table.

Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't realize that was an option.
