Just Back - 8 Nights At Cbr!!!
DH and I just returned from 8 nights in Jamaica at CBR. We have to warn everyone that the parks, mostly MK, were more crowded than we remember during our May 2000 trip. The weather was sunny and bright with highs from 93 to 99 degrees making it extremely difficult to be patient. The tranportation left much to be desired the first few days (the wait was a minimum of 40 to 55 minutes or more) but it eventually got somewhat better after a guest complained to the Disney Transportation Director after a more than a 50 minute wait at MGM. The hours for the parks were awful, especially since the Pooh ride, Great Move Ride, Timekeeper and CofP were closed. The stand-by times for most rides were never updated leaving us to fend for ourselves at the Fast Pass line which, coincidentally, was closed most of the time at around 5:00 (sometimes were never opened at all) claiming that all fast passes were issued for the day. Buzz Lightyear became one of the most crowded rides and although the stand-by time stated 15 minuted, it was most definitely 45 minutes or more and most of the time, those Fast Pass machines were never opened. While we were there, we ate at San Angel Inn for lunch, Brown Derby for dinner, Rose & Crown for dinner and 50s Prime Time Cafe. Our favorite was Brown Derby; although $$$, it was well worth it - if you go, the Cobb Salad as an appetizer is a must, the Pork Tenderloin was absolutely incredible and our server, Stephen, was most gracious. San Angel Inn was also very good, including their desserts (one was a Vanilla Flan and the other was a Chocolate Chimicanga) which were the best I have ever had. We were not too impressed with the Prime Time Cafe and our stomachs were not either after we were done - trust me when I say do not order the Pot Roast or the Fried Chicken. DH and I have been in the past and I was a frequent WDW guest while growing up and I have never felt the need to write to Disney with any concerns. Although we can't say enough about Disney employees and their friendly and courteous demeanors, we both felt a little jipped out of some Disney magic and felt that as consumers, we are taken granted. We are going to be sending Disney a letter and we hope we will recieve a timely response. More than six weeks ago, we e-mailed them with our concerns about the park hours and to date, have not recieved the courtesy of a reply, either by phone, e-mail or letter. I hope this time will be different as we do love Disney and want to remain guests - guess we'll have to see. Hopefully, I wasn't too harsh - if you are leaving soon, you should be happy that the park hours have been lengthened although they should be even more so. Compared to a trip we took in May of 2000, the crowds this time were much worse and in May of 2000, the hours to MK were sometimes 9-11 or midnight and Epcot, the entire park, was open until 11 also. Hopefully things will change - guess we'll see
