Just back- 8/5-8/12
Stayed at Beach club for six nights and Boardwalk for one night (Wanted to add one more night and couldn't get Beach club at that point)- stayed on DVC points
Overall-
We have never been in August, always do early June if we come in summer.
- It was hotter than early June. I also felt like it was crowded than it is in early June. Felt more like Thanksgiving crowds. MK and AK were by far the most crowded parks.
- Bought a pass through the DVC deal so we went into parks every day. Decided I love FP+ for a trip like this- we didn't rope drop and would go in during the afternoon and stay to close. This timing helped with heat.
Positives-
- LOVED FOP- clearly the best ride on property right now. Had FP for it the first time and went back in later in the week during EMH and rode it again (waited close to 2 hours)- such a neat ride!! We all came off raving about it.
- Really liked FEA, had a FP for it and would have loved to have ridden it a second time but the line was crazy long.
- Love the DVC lounge at Epcot- hit it twice during the week
- Received Memory Maker with pass- so fun! Loved all the extra shots with the magical effects.
Disappointments-
- Hollywood Studios- Crowded and hard to do attractions because of the timing of them. Can't wait for Star Wars Land but don't feel like I need to go back in that park until then.
- Soarin'- just didn't like it near as much as the original one. Didn't feel like there were as many smells and it didn't seem like you were flying as much.
- FP lines at MK were really long. Still waited close to half an hour to ride Space Mountain on two different days with FP.
- BB- some slides were closed and there just wasn't enough to do for the money and time invested.
Overall, a great week of making family memories! Just really tired now!
