Overall, we had an amazing time. My son cried when he met Pooh; my daughter hugged and kissed all of the princesses with so much joy; my stoic husband got lost in the magic of it all; and I just loved being in Disney again. We hope to go again next year.
And that right there is what it's all about. My DSs will soon be 12 and 10 and the only place they let loose and allow themselves to be little boys is at Disney World. They hug the characters and skip to rides and actually put their arms around each other for a pic in front of the castle. So, every year we shell out the bucks, every year more than the last, we deal with the people running into our ankles with strollers and ECVs, and I stifle the urge to knock an iPad or two out of people's hands when they hold them up in front of me on the Safari or Pirates. My DH wears his Jack Skellington and "best Dad in the Galaxy" shirts publicly with pride, even though those are not shirts worn out in public at home. And I soak it all in, tissues always at the ready. I'm so glad that you and your family were able to look past the not-so-great and enjoy the magic!
