Just Back... 15 nights at the AKL any questions?

Hello to all my fellow DISers! I just returned from 16 wonderful days in WDW. We stayed at the AKL for our entire trip! it was beautiful. I will post a more detailed page of our trip later but just wanted you all to know I'm home and open for any questions anyone might have about anything? We were there 11/2-11/17. It was amazing. The resort that is. It's hard to describe the feeling you get when you first arrive and see it. Oh and the view from the room was wonderful. We always had animals out our balcony. Well if you have any questions feel free to write!

Welcome back! Can you tell us what trail you were on and your room number? sounds like a good room! also what floor were you on? Thanks.

Was the lodge already decorated for X-Mas? Did you eat at any or all of the restaurants? Do concierge? Thanks!

You arrived at Akl the day before we left there....the resort was so quiet all week until that weekend when it seemed to fill up over night. Mara was elbow to elbow when we went down for breakfast 11/2 & 11/3...we might have rubbed elbows and not known it!LOL Don't you just love that place. I had some really bad news when we got back so I was over a week in unpacking...when I did, I got a wiff of AKL on my clothes and wanted to sit down and cry I missed the place so bad.

I believe we were on the KUDU trail. I actually never could get it right but I think that's wear we were. We had room 4225. It was a nice room on the 4th floor. It had 2 queen beds and 2 sinks. It was a corner room which was fab. It made it nicer and easier to see things!

No the lodge was not decorated for x-mas. I was hoping we would see some x-mas stuff but didn't except for the Osbourne Lights at MGM. There were some x-mas decorations out for sale in the gift shop though.
We ate at Boma for dinner one night and for breakfast one morning. All I can say is FABULOUS!!!! Well worth the money!

Were you wearing your green ribbon? I was wearing mine and didn't see any. The resort was quite during the week both weeks actually but it seemed to fill up on the weekends! Specially during the Super Soap Weekend! They was a rumor going around that Susan Lucci wsa staying at the AKL! I have not unpacked yet. I don't want to!!! I know I'm going to find all our maps of the parks and stuff and I know I'll be planning another trip if I get that feeling and I think my DH would shoot me if I did that right now!!!!!

Sounds like you had a great time, isn't The AKL amazing?! I stayed there in May and I am counting the days until we can go back, the resort is so wonderful. Welcome back!

Do you rember if you saw any kudu on the savanna buy the pool, when I went they were sick and in the barn, they told me it would be a month before the would return, was wondering if they were out yet?

Yes we saw Kudu outside our balcony every day. We did not see any animals around the pool at all. We went to the pool about every day and never saw anything around there.
