Ok people, I have to laugh. Disney was more crowded than I have seen it in the past 5 years and then I see a crawl on the bottom of CNN Headline news that park attendance is weak. LOL!

Day 1 - It's Jersey week, eek! The airlines are so overpriced that we have to fly out of LaGuardia to MCO. Arrive at 5:00 pm with Mom, DS, and Son's pal. We were met at the airport by friends who live down there. We went to check in at the condo (Holiday Villas - report on Orlando Hotels board) and then went to dinner. Our friends had given us a gift certificate to a place called Logans, and it was fun for the two teens. It's a burger and rib place that allows you to throw peanut shells on the floor. After dinner we went to Downtown Disney and hit the shops because it's Mom's favorite thing to do. The place was much more crowded than it was on previous November trips. Back to the condo and bed!

Day 2 - Epcot! I missed Epcot. Our friend didn't accompany us because they were packing to move back to Jersey. We get into the park and the guys decide to split. We agree to meet at the American Pavilion at 6. Mom's feet aren't doing well so we're taking it slow. The park is very crowded, again much more so than previous Novembers. We walk past future world and head straight for the world showcase. After having tea in Britian Mom decides she wants to check out the new Beach Club Villas, so we take the boat over. As we get on the boat I hear the captain asking a woman about her trip. She said she was having fun but there were too many rowdy Jersey people on "Honey I shrunk the Audience." I giggle internally.

The BCV - They are lovely, much smaller than OKW, but nicely done. Better use of space, IMHO. Mom even put her feet in the hot tub to help her with the rest of the day. We went back to the boat and continued our journey around the World Showcase. In France we had a surprise meeting with friends of ours from Jersey - didn't expect to run into them there! They gave mom some meds to help the pain in her feets and we all continued our way around.

The small stand for the different countries were bustling! I didn't try too much food-wise because I knew we were all going to dinner in Morocoo, but I did have a Panada at the Chile booth, and our party tried some of the wines. I bought wine to bring home to DH for his birthday and luckily I was able to send it up front so I didn't have to carry it around.

We went to the Little Anthony and the Imperials concert at the American Pavilion stage. It was great! They sound fantastic and it was a thrill for Mom. The bleachers were full! After it was over we found DS and his friend, and went to Morocco for our dinner. I love that place! Morocco is my favorite pavilion. I love the tile work, I love the dancers, and the food is great.

After dinner we walked back to the front of the park. It was very crazy - you could barely get through the crowd!!!! The kids split up from us and said they would meet us at Spaceship Earth at 9PM. Mom and I wandered Innoventions and then went on SE before meeting up with the kids. DS said that his favorite part of Epcot, besides the food, is seeing the hot girls working in Norway.

Day 3 - Friday we went to Universal. Crowded but doable. Best part of that day was lunch at the Hard Rock - DS and our friend met Roger Clemens and got an autograph. Won't go into the Universal end of this on the Disney thread ;)

Day 4 - Saturday - NEVER AGAIN!!!! My friend Julie wanted to go to MGM for the Super Soap weekend. I work full-time, but I remember these shows from when my son was little. If I'm home sick I will watch them but I am not a huge fan. The lines into the park were horrendous. They weren'r charging for parking in order to get everyone into the parks. The security line took about 1/2 hr. We got in, went to starring rolls to get breakfast (which took another 1/2 hr) and then tried to get onto the autograph lines. They were shutting down the lines with anywhere from 70 - 90 people per star. We made it onto James DePaiva's line (Max Holden, OLTL) and then went up to New York St. to see if we could get on other lines. Nope. Everything was already full. People were waiting at 11AM for signings at 2:30 in the afternoon. In the broiling sun. NO WAY! We did wait on the Soap Net line to get some freebies. They gave away fans (which helped), buttons and pens. The pens are great - they look like a lipstick which means none of the men in my life will steal it from me :p .

After that we went back to the Sorcerer's Hat stage for a Q&A with people from OLTL. About 2/3 of the way through my phone starts to vibrate and I have to leave the area - my friend's husband was supposed to have picked up Mom and the kids but he said they weren't there. He had gone to the wrong condo and wound up missing them. We had to leave to get the rest of the family on track. I wasn't bothered to be leaving - it was way too crowded for anything, anyway. I felt bad for my friend because she didnt' get to do much but she said she had fun.

We rounded up the troops, had a quick bite to eat, and then took off for Downtown Disney. DS & his friend went to Disney Quest. We left, went to the Boardwalk, and took up residence at Jellyroll's. I am not a bar person but this place was absolutely awesome! No food, be warned not to go on an empty stomach. They serve hot spicy popcorn which will keep you thirsty, but that's it. The piano players are fantastic and take requests all night long. Everyone sings along - it was great! My friends have been regulars there and they couldn't wait to bring us. Mom was brought on stage in recognition of her birthday, and later for a rendition of New York, New York. She's hilarious. If you're adults and you're looking for a fun night out this is it. The kids caught the bus over at 12:30 and sent a message in that they were outside, so we were able to leave directly from the Boardwalk and head home.

Mom was slightly tipsy:crazy: and was hungry when we left. She wanted to eat but it was so late. We took stuff back to the condo and the whole group stayed up eating.

Day 5 - We were supposed to hit Blizzard beach the next day but we didn't because everyone slept so late, so we hung by the pool. In the evening we went to the Polynesian to have dinner at Ohanas. It was my son's friend's birthday party and he seemed to really enjoy it. DS loved the food - he called it Hawaiian Rodizio. For those who don't know, Rodizio is Brazilian barbecue where they bring continuous skewers of roasted meats to your table. Ohanas was great, as always. After dinner it was back to the condo for some last minute laundry and packing.

Day 6 - Rose somewhat early, finished up, and checked out. Found out someone had made an expensive phone call from the room. That made no sense because we had our cell phones. We drove DS's friend over to his Grandparents in Winter Park. They agreed to meet us at the airport later and we hit the Millennium mall. Mom loves malls. I would have preferred another day at Disney :( . Off to the airport at 3:30 and we find that storms have caused delays and our flight is leaving late. We should have left around 5, left at 6:30 instead, and sat on the runway for 20 min. before takeoff. Back in NY I waited 40 min. for my bag. Everyone else had theirs but mine had been searched - I guess it was the wine from Epcot.

All in all a good trip but I would have preferred to do more. Usually I am a Disney commando, hitting everything, but this time we were more laid back, mostly because of Mom's feet. I still have 1 day on each of those passes, and 1 water park option, so I am already plotting to get away with DH!

Have a Magical Day!

Sounds like a fun time was had by all - now to get cracking on planning the next trip - thanks for posting!

thanks for posting - I can't wait to get back to Jellyrolls, lots of fun!

I enjoyed your trip report! Thanks for posting.

I enjoyed your trip report. I understand about your mother's feet...I had issues with mine last week too. I took every kind and brand (5 pairs) recommended on the DIS tips board and nothing really worked. Thank God for Moleskin is all I can say. Thanks for sharing!

You are right about Jellyrolls, it is so much fun. It can get pretty smoky sometimes though.

I love O'hana too.

Sounds like you had a good trip except for your mom's poor feet. Start planning that "getaway" with your dh and tour commando next time :teeth:

Thanks for posting this.
