We are waiting for our room.
When I checked in they said 4 pm. When I called for readiness, the CM told me check is 4, but not guaranteed until 5. I didn't argue, but I think that is plain incorrect. Right?
Traffic on I 95 from mid SC to I 4 was negligible heading south and a nightmare heading north. This encouraged us. Breakfast at the Hampton in Palm Coast was empty. Only a few other people there. The 1BR suite was about $15 more than a regular room and slept 6 easily on the 2 beds and sleeper sofa. I would recommend it for larger families on a budget. Very clean and friendly as usual for Hampton.
My DD9 (with epilepsy) had a seizure and cut her face. We were in Celebration ER by 11. She needed 6 stitches on her face and 2 inside her mouth. My wife is at the pharmacy getting the prescription for antibiotics and doing grocery shopping while we sit around waiting for the room.
A few notes on check in. Best I have had at WDW!! Kudos to Kenzo from Botswana and all the staff. No welcome homes but who cares when everyone this nice. No line at all and it looked like the counter was fully staffed and waiting for busloads of people. We were assigned a room on the Suset Savannah, which was not available, so so she went to check for available rooms she assigned us an Arusa room. Also not available. Her smile was not as big when it turned out my wife's name was mistakenly not on the reservation and she had to go back and get another charging ID card (my fault, won't explain). But she handled it well and told me to check back with her to see if we can get an earlier room. When I went back , though, the lines were quite long, so we came back outside to wait.
We went to lunch at Mara's. Their Caesar salads were excellent (with chicken). The CM at the counter said the salads without meat are pre-made in the refrigerators. She was a little snippy at one point, but no biggie. She made a great salad.
The coffee at Mara is a B-. I like mine stronger. I noticed they have FRESH BREWED TEA!!!!. Which is hard to find down here. I can't wait to try it. The quality is yet to be seen -- or tasted.
Very impressive landscaping at pool. Much like Poly with similar plants, but I actually like it better. I feel more Disney "magic" here than I thought I would.
gotta sign off.
I will come back and proof later and update.
This afternoon the pool has been relatively unbusy. About 2/3 of the chairs are taken. Is that because there is no pool hopping?? I'm glad there is not. (We own OKW and usually stay there and for me pool hopping is too much hassle anyway.)
So here we wait by the ?Savannah -- the one by the pool.
PS. I'm using a Verizon link and it works great!!
