Alright, I've spent the last 4 months planning a special trip for my wife (Her first trip) & myself, leaving the kids at home:lovestruc . We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 3 days during Free Dining. We were going to ride all the rides & stay up late, kid-free!

Last night I decided we NEEDED to take the kids, I couldn't help it, the wife agreed. So I called WDW & added the kids along with extending the trip a day on each end (I figured we'll be going at a much slower pace). They were able to add my daughter & the extra days with Free Dining, so that was great!:thumbsup2 I called this morning & rescheduled ADRs & actually got luckier than I thought I would.

The problem now is I've spent the last 4 months researching a kid free trip for adults with roller coasters & grey goose slushies & I don't know anything about traveling to disney with a 3 year old & almost 2 year old.

Anyone have any tips for traveling with young 'ens? This will be there first time flying as well, which scares me for some reason.

When you see their little faces you will be so glad you changed your plans!

When mine were 3 and 2 we just let them set the pace, if they were getting tired we would take a nap break or swim.

As far as the plane, bring them lots to do. Make sure the little one has a bottle or sippy cup since they can't chew gum, it will help with takeoff. There are tons of mess free coloring things now. Snacks are great too.

Have fun!!

ETA: Don't forget to keep them cool and hydrated. They can get so dehydrated so fast because it is so hot down there. Misting fans or Misty mates would be great too.

I dream of an adult only Disney vacation, however at this point I think my son's heart would break if we went with out him. Part of the excitement of the trip for me is seeing my son get so excited. There is nothing like a "family" trip to see the mouse! My son is 6 and this year will be his 4th trip to the mouse. Twice at Disneyland and now twice to WDW.

I tried to add days and the CM said the promo was over so I can't add days with free dining...:confused3
Maybe I should call back.;)
I have a DD 2 and a DS 3... As much as I would LOVE some time away
I can understand how you feel...
Just take it slow... Take Breaks... It will be Wonderful to see it all through their eyes...

From what I understand, I think they could probably do it if they go through guest services at your resort assuming there are vacancies for the days you want to add.

I'd try calling back & asking them to call guest services for you!

Yeah, we added the 2 days, because I'm planning on taking a much slower pace, going back to the hotel for naps & relaxation time in the pool, etc.

Thanks so much, the plane ride is my biggest concern. I really don't want to be that family with crying babies. I'm hoping the excitement of it all will help as well!

We're from Houston, so the heat is something we're used to fighting. We'll look into the misting fans.

I really wanted to take my wife on an adults trip since she's never been & then take the kids a little later, but I couldn't imagine bringing home photos of us with all these characters they love so much & them being dissappointed they didn't get to see them. We'll plan an adults trip when they're too cool for it in a couple of decades...:rotfl:
