I LOVE Disney! CM (Allison)just called to tell me that she can give us the dining package on our postcard offer. YAHOOOOOOO! Not only is this our first on-site experience, but now we don't even have to think about food costs! We made our reservation yesterday and were unable to book the dining under this roomrate. Today she calls telling us she made a mistake and wanted to make sure we knew that we could get it under the low roomrate. We purchased a one day base ticket ( as we have park hoppers for either 3 or 4 days) and added the dining for the rest of our trip plus the Magic Express for our return trip to the airport. I am doing the happy dance. :cool1:

I feel like I'm in Disney already. I can FEEL the Magic!

I Called Today To Book With The Postcard Rate I Received In The Mail And Was Todl That I Was Unable To Get The Dining Since You Are Allowed Only 1 Discount. He Said I Could The Rack Rate And Then I Would Be Able To Get The Dining With It. Did You Use A Postcard Rate?

I was told by the reservations cast member that made my reservation that I could DEFINATELY add the dining plan to the room only reservation I made for April with a post card rate. The only catch is that you have to purchase park tickets too (at least one day), which turns the reservation into a package.

Since packages have much stricter payment and cancellation terms, I am going to wait until the last minute to change to the package.

Some reservation cast members don't really know what they are doing. The first time I called with my postcard code, I was told I could not use it for the last week of April. Whan I called back, I made the reservation with no problem. I suggest you call back and speak to another cast member.

What I don't understand about Disney is, if you can book the dining package and only get a 1 day MYW ticket, why wouldn't they let me book dining because I wanted 10 day MYW tickets & our resort stay would only be 5 nights. The CM told me the park ticket had to match the number of nights we were staying. WE are splitting our stay between POFQ, BCV & AKL. I only wanted dining for the first portion of our stay.

I guess I will call back and see if I get a different answer.

You might not want to wait too long. I was told by a Disney TA and every peron I spoke with at CRO that you cannot add to the room only if that's what you have now. You have to book a new reservation using the code with the MYW and dining. Also, they told me that the deposit cannot be transferred.

Have a great trip!

OK I just called and spoke with another CM and they told me I could not add dining if my park ticket days did not match the number of nights I'm staying. Is there something I'm missing here? :guilty:

We have a reservation for 4 nights, 3 days MYW and she told me that the dining has to match the nights you are staying not the number of park days.

They are probably still get used to the new system too. :flower1:

Ok Becky I'm going to call one more time. We should not have a problem getting the dining option. :D

Hey everyone, if you read darlaya's post, it says she DID, in fact, book a package with a postcard rate for the room, one day of park tickets (you have to buy at least one day of park tickets to qualify as a package) and the dining package. So it can be done!! When I spoke to reservations, they confirmed to me that I could get the same thing as darlaya!!!

The whole point of MYW is that you have some flexibility. The dining part of the package must be booked for all nights of your stay, but so, what. If you are going to eat at WDW anyway, its hard to eat lunch, dinner and a snack for less than $35 per day including tax and tips.

You DOI NOT have to book park tickets for every day of your stay. A friend of mine just booked a package for 7 nights and tickets for 5 days. Since I have tickets left over from previous stays, I'm only going to buy one day of park tickets so I can qualify for the dining.

I'm still planning on waiting a while to change my room only reservation to a package. If the post card room rate is sold out when I try to make the change, then I'll stick with the room only reservation and use my rental car to eat off property for some of the meals. If I eat half of my meals off property, which is what we usually do anyway, I can eat on average for less than $35 per day, so I don't think I'm taking a big chance by waiting to book the package. I'll still eat at my favorite WDW restaurants and I won't overeat by eating huge meals every day on the package.
