Just a whine

I'm one week post op from having a breast augmentation and mini-tummy tuck. I thought I'd be somewhat back to normal by now, but nope. I'm miserable. My chest hurts, my side hurts, I can't shave my legs, I'm wrapped like a mummy, my back hurts from walking hunched over, I have drains sticking out, I haven't been able to shower in a week - I'm a mess. I sure hope I start to feel better soon, but I just needed to whine a little. Ok there, I feel better now. Carry on.

:thumbsup2 It does get better, I promise!

I had my breats done 3 years ago and it took me about 2 weeks before I didn't walk around all hunched over. Heck, for the first week, my DH had to life me off the couch so I could use the bathroom.

Hang in there...it'll all be worth it soon!

I was wondering how it all went! Did they tell you it would be like this afterwards?? Maybe you can have some "real wine" - but you're probably on some meds, huh?

I saw your title and immediately though "How about some cheese to go with that whine!" So please take that the good-naturedly way it was intended.

I've never had that surgery. In fact, I've only ever had one simple little tiny barely worth mentioning surgery. But anyway...hope you're feeling better soon. No matter the reason, being in pain isn't fun.

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are - what? - halfway through recovery!

Hope it gets better every day!

My doctor told me I'd be feeling decent by one week. Everyone heals differently and apparently I'm healing slower than usual. It didn't help that I had two things done at once. I'd love some wine - but between the vicodin, valium and other crap I'm taking, I would be on another planet. Maybe that's not such a bad thing.... :teeth:

Sorry to hear you are feeling so miserable. I hope your body starts feeling better soon. Take care.

Hope you feel better soon!
My mom had her breast size reduced a few years ago and it was really painful for her too. Took her a while to heal.
So, take care of yourself! :goodvibes

Been watching for you! :teeth: Glad it's all over and it WILL start to get a lot better soon. I kept my mouth shut beforehand concerning how miserable this was going to be. I worked on a plastic/reconstructive surgical floor in a hospital a few years ago and the tummy tucks were always the worst. But hey.....you're already *gorgeous* under all those dressings and it won't be long till *everybody* knows it! :goodvibes

Hey Steph! I've been wondering when you were getting it done.

Feel better soon. :goodvibes

You guys are awesome - thank you. I've been crying all morning, like a big baby, asking why I did this to myself. I knew I could count on all my Dis friends to make me feel a little better!

Glad to hear the surgery went well, but sorry to hear you are feeling so crummy. We can't wait until you are back to your old self again!

:grouphug: I'm sorry you are so miserable. Just tell yourself that each day will be better than the one before. And just think how great you will look in your swimsuit! :woohoo:

Fell better soon, Steph. I'm sure things will start getting better and once they do, the recovery will go quickly.

So sorry you feel down. Just keep happy thoughts about how great you are going to look real soon!
:rose: Here's a flower for you!

I'm a month out from a hysterectomy and I'm still a mess - though things definately started improving at about 3 1/2 weeks. I've figured out why they say 6 - 8 weeks after an adominal surgery. There's no way I could be back to work yet. I can't imagine two surgerys - you are one brave woman! I had dental surgery scheduled for the last week of my 6 week "recovery time" and just cancelled it because I realized I was still needing to focus my energy on recovering from this.

I totally understand the need to whine and be miserable. I'm right there with you. In general though, I've been trying to keep my eye on the future when I'm feeling better and realize in the long term that one month of misery really isn't that much.

I've been on a forum for my surgery and found some women who feel great at two weeks and some who are still struggling at six. Is there a plastic surgery recovery forum you can go to?

Best wishes - I know it's hard!

Stephanie - I'm so sorry you feel so poorly. I'm sending lots of PD for you to have a quick recovery!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
