Just a thought

As far as adults not getting their pictures/autographs of characters...well, for me personally, it was never something I wanted to do even as I child. I love Disney Parks, and the whole experience...and I enjoy the characters from a distance...but I never wanted to get "up close and personal" with them.

On the other hand, we took some family friends with us on a few occasions. The lady (and she is nearly 70) has some short term memory problems, so she takes LOTS of photos of her travels as keepsakes. She was always excited to see the characters and get photos with them, Mom & I sat on many benches and watched her enjoy her character interactions...far be it from me to tell anyone of any age that they should NOT do character meet & greets at Disney. The magic resides in different places of everyones hearts and the characters for some people are the purest magic of all.

[BAnd I think you need to sit back and think about that.

Let's apply that logic to something else.

I like the mall. But at Christmas time, there would be SO fewer people if I would just stop going, cause I've already seen it and done it.

There's a Six Flags around here. And my god the crowds would be less and less if I'd stop going every year, cause I've been there and seen it!

That logic just doesn't make any sense. It's the way people choose to spend their money. If it really bothers you that much, then you simply have the option of not going.

And that's MY opinion, and I did my best to express it in a non-threatening, un-offensive manner. [/B]

You are always so logical. :) There is a reason I always enjoy your posts. Way 2 Go Dan!!!

I know there are adults who will elbow kids out of the way to get in line for a ride but let me tell you there are plenty of kids, I'm thinking 9-12 year olds, who will wait until they are about to board a ride and try to get in front of us slower moving adults. I am thinking specifically about a 6 Flags ride but it happens other places. I didn't draw any blood but I did let those kids know they had to wait in line just like I had.

I'm right there with you. Children can be very rude and hateful and can act much worse than an immature adult. Children will push, shove, say hateful disrespectful things to adults and give the evil eye if you correct them. I am not referring to my own, btw. :D

The OP is whining about what adults will do to meet "Goofy", but I have seen some children and teenage children act much worse.

I mentioned on another board that several of us were knocked out of the way by an ECV at our local polling place on Election Day. I'm sure all of us would have allowed him to go first in line had he asked politely, but none of us appreciated being mowed down in his quest to be next to cast his ballot. So, people on ECV's at Disney haven't cornered the market on rudeness.

My thought exactly. I found that almost every person on my last trip to Disney with a stroller was rude an inconsiderate. These people stop right in the middle of walkways to look at a bird in a tree or stop right in the middle of a walkway to tie their shoe.....however, it would be very unfair for me to draw the assumption that every single person who visits Disney and uses a stroller is rude and inconsiderate. I see this type of behavior everywhere and I would be willing to bet these people also do this in the grocery store with their shopping carts, with their cars on the street when they are confused about where they are going, etc.

OP - it sounds like you had some expectations about your trip that were not met and now you feel like you have something to prove.

I do not visit more than once a year, but I sure would not like it for my fellow Disers if you were runing the show for Disney....WOW, and we all thought Eisner was bad. ::yes::
