One is for cut-outs....the other (a much used family favorite) is for drop.

Powdered Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Cream wet ingredients.
Mix dry ingredients.
Blend wet and dry together with mixer.
Separate into 2 or 3 different chunks and knead in a little dye to each (in festive colors).
Chill the dough if too sticky to roll.
Roll to 1/8" to 1/4" thick and use cookie cutters
Preheat oven to 375 degree oven. Bake for 7 - 8 minutes.

Stir and Drop Sugar Cookies

2 eggs
2/3 cup oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Beat eggs, oil, vanilla and sugar together.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture. (Dough will be soft).
Drop by teaspoons 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press cookies flat with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheets.
