Just A Note - DDE Is Not Applicable On Major Holidays

For those who requested info on the DDE card:

This is the Disney Dining Experiance card that used to be available only to Florida residents. As of the beginning of 2005 Disney decided to make it available to AP holders as well. The cost to an AP holder in 2005 was $50.00 for a one year membership [it has gone up for 2006 but I'm not sure what the new rate is]. With the card you get a 20% discount at most TS restaurants in the parks and at the resorts and at food courts in resorts that do not have a TS restaurant. You could also get the 20% discount at some of the Luau and Hoop De Do shows, but that appears to have been dropped for 2006.
Based on my experience a party of 2 can recoup the $50.00 membership fee in 5 to 7 days at WDW, depending on which restaurants you go to and how many TS meals you do per day. Of course larger groups will break even much sooner.

I called Disney Travel and the price was scheduled to go up from $50 to $60 at the first of January.

Also -- As soon as you purchase it, the year starts THAT DAY! I was going to purchase a DDE but am not planning on going to WDW until May. I felt it was a waste of money to not even get to use it for 5 months with the clock ticking! :earboy2:

Someone posted they used the card Jan. 1st at Raglund Road. I thought they didn't accept it there. Is this a new restaurant for 2006 with DDE?

I don't know if they did not last year and now do or whatever.
Wherever I eat at Disney I just ask if they honor the DDE discount.
RR did at our lunch yesterday on New Years Day.
The place was dead when we were there.

What about the food courts at the resorts? A few people have mentioned that they have used the card at Pop and SSR food courts... I didn't see the food courts listed on the sheet that came along with the card. I never thought to ask our food court if they accept it! (we were at AKL).

I think the resorts that do not have a FS restaurant accept DDE in the food courts. It is accepted by at least one dinning establishment in every resort.

When Raglan Road first opened, they didn't take it. They do now. I used it about a week ago there.

It can be used at food courts where there are no table service restaurants like the values, French Qtr and for the time being SSR.
