My team opened up our ride this evening for a test run and had a swarm of people come through. Most were nice and seemed to enjoy the ride. However a couple people made rude comments.

One that caught my attention said "No competition LOL". While it does not hurt my feelings a bit that someone thinks their slide is better mine, I ask that people try to remember that there are a lot of kids entered in this competition. Rude comments like that could really upset them.

I rode several slides tonight and saw the same sort of thing happening in all of them. I'm just hoping that people will remember that no matter how ordinary or incredible a slide is, the person who made it probably did the very best that they could do and spent a lot of time and credits doing it.

Remember the always good advice, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Good luck to everyone entered in the contest. (I don't know about you but I can't wait to get my green chair!) And to everyone not entered in the contest I hope to see you on the slides this weekend. I am sure there will be some amazing rooms to see.

This is no different from the last ride, not to drag up old things but we had other teams blocking our ride, coming in to tell people our was no good and go ride theirs. Sadly these people if on other teams should have the entire team DQ as a result of their actions. We were very tollarnt last run this time we have vowed that if we can get the captain in they will meet the boot if that is not effective we will report them and name the team they are on in the report.

I didn't compete the last time and had no idea that this stuff happened. It's too bad that people can't just have fun!

Egad.

Last night, we had some test runs, and some people jumped on in the middle
of some of the rooms. One of my teammates IMed me to say that in
the room she was riding, some kid deemed us "lame".

How fitting, as we are "old and lame" on our team. ;)

I do remember an incident similar to Adventuredaz's in our base camp for
Everest. One girl with a Guest title was telling people to ride her ride
instead of ours. She kept coming back to do this, until finally we reported
her.

The sad part is that the Shallow End room owner won't always be around to
boot, but if someone is disrupting your ride, you should report them.

My rooms are on friends only and if anyone who is not aloud came was told to leave in the next 20 seconds or get the boot

This is my first competition too and I had not even thought of people doing these sorts of things. I wish I wasn't working all weekend so I could hang out and boot all the rude people. It is sad that these people feel that they need to put others down. Personally, I am just happy to be getting the participation prize!

This is exactly why our team has made it where you can't enter in the middle of the ride. They need to ride the whole thing, not part of it.

this is my first but I only get wows or wo if they enter I was banned for a month IP when they did everest

what if they bump off? what if staff gets bumped off?

Just remember that these types of people represent the worst in VMK and they are in small minority. Just as with anything, there are always a few bad apples.

I have like staff did a start at the entrance that teleports to the slide tracks so that people that get bumped off are able to get on

We made sure that if someone gets bumped to the door (being too close to
someone else going through the teleporter to the next room) that you can
always hop back on the ride to finish it.

I'd rather people jump on in the middle than to have riders not be able to
finish our ride.

Well, that was also taken into consideration when we were putting our rooms together.

I've seen it countless times where someone comes into a room because the player riding was on their lists, and begins riding. These are most of the time the people that later criticize your ride when they finish.

If needed, they can always go back to the start and ride again. :)

Would it be rude for me to state very frankly - I dont care what you think of my ride if I have never met you and you are mean-spirited enough to make those comments?

As a first-time ride builder, this was a very educational experience. My rides are nothing to praise over, but they are my best effort. And if someone in vmk cant appreciate that - then I really dont care, simply put.

I thank god that VMK has staff that are online and able to help :)
