Just a FP+ Thought...Don't Have to Like My Opinion!

Isn't it just beautiful what doubling a ride's capacity can do? (cough cough)

But somewhere, someone in a monkey suit, smoking a cigar, said, "You know what sounds like a good use of $1.5 billion dollars?" His underlings replied, "What, boss?". And he said, "Let's use a new technological system as smoke and mirrors for our park that is using outdated technology on the ground, and hope no one notices that our competitor up the road in the last four years has added the most popular theme park attraction in the world, another thrill ride at their flagship park, and is about to open phase two of the previously mentioned most popular theme park attraction in the world". And all the yes-men said, "Oh yeah boss, great idea!".

It has obviously not been around for all thirty visits and I suppose no ride is that high of a priority for me. I will never do cartwheels to get on a ride. I know I'll be back and I always keep that in mind.

I understand completely! For a long time we stopped riding RnR! It just never worked out and I wasn't willing to skip TOT or run across the park for and FP at the right time or stay longer then planned in the park. Obviously, it was always strictly POSSIBLE but it always seemed to get left off the agenda! We got back to RnR on our last trip (which was FP+) but I'm not sure if that changed things ...

Yes… creepers. We've been called "haters" a couple of times in this thread, too. At least I know I'm not just drinking the Koolaid!

Add us to the list of people with favorable FP+ experience. Sure, when it was just DW and I we were super FP- users, but we gave away more than we used (not to mention brought home tons of fp- tickets). Now with kids we don't tour that way though and find FP+ beneficial for us. So FP+ does work well for some people and no I'm not just drinking the kool aid.

Even if I hated FP+ I think I'd find better things to do than be one of the people trashing it on every thread where someone states positive things about it. That's rather sad.

I haven't read all the pages of this thread, but I totally agree with OP.

On Thursday morning, I entered Epcot via the International Gateway at rope drop. DH and I were headed to check out Sum of all Thrills (something we'd never done). We actually stopped for a moment and watched the "fountain show" (is there a real name for it??). You know, the one where the fountains shoot up, choreographed to music. I have photos with NO PEOPLE in them. DH took a video. We just stood there and watched it for a few minutes before heading to Sum (which DH still got in with the first group of riders).

We had 2 days at Epcot and did TT FP+ one day and Soarin' FP+ the other. By no means do I think that FP+ is perfect, but we did find ourselves stopping to smell the roses more than we had in the past. We would have completely bypassed that cool show at the fountains (and NO PEOPLE in our photos/video!) had we been running to one of the rides to get a FP-.

Wow...I titled and started this thread as such because I have read others berating those with opinions that differ from theirs...again our initial experience with FP+ has been positive, our experience thus far with booking and changing FP+ for March has so far been positive and sorry but...

I am not drinking the Disney Kool-Aid if I don't agree with your opinion...I would never disparage your remarks because I understand that different individuals have different experiences and are entitled to their own opinions.

And yes...you may not have had positive experiences but I have and I will not try to challenge you, or insinuate that "my experience encompasses all experiences."

Happy touring to all! Enough said!!!

We are here now and having a great time. We have been able to ride rides we have never been able to because of fp+. My kids got on toy story for the first time. We will be riding dumbo for the first time this week. We have been here over thirty times. We are rope drop people but only spend the morning in the park. Late fast pass return times never worked for us. Now I book ahead, we tour in the morning efficiently and are experiencing new things. It's great.

For those nights we head back, I book rides ahead of time. Soarin was amazing today. In the past we could never have snagged a fp.

I've had no trouble changing our plans.

Great flexibility, no glitches. I can see super users being put off, but this system will really work for the majority. Disney knows what they are doing.

I just started reading this thread so I haven't had a chance to go through all the pages and I am not picking. I just don't understand how if you are a RD family, you were never able to ride TSM, Dumbo etc. especially if you have been there 30+ times. What happened?
