I've done that work its not easy, especially for the technically challenged listeners. It's actually EAISER for YOU to strip the audio and post that in an audio only feed then it is to do it the other way around. A lot of applications that convert YouTube RSS Feeds no longer work when YouTube Depricated the RSS API. Now you basically have to download the video strip the audio out, put it into a playlist and sync your phone. This also won't grab new content, so if you are on the go you need to have this set up ahead of time. The whole point of a podcast app is for new content to be delivered automaticallyFor anyone who is complaining that we don't put more of our YouTube videos in iTunes, do a quick Google search on what you'd like - making YouTube videos into audio - and maybe that will fix your situation. It requires you to do a little work, but if it is that important then it should be worth it, right?
Most of these apps and solutions require an app on your computer to be running to update so if you leave the house, you won't get new content even if you have that automated
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate everything you guys do for us craig, and at ZERO cost to us, but your basically inconveniencing the very people you are intending to reach because you don't want to add a few steps to your workflow to just strip the audio and update another feed.
EDIT:
Before I typed the above I had just spent a half hour trying to find an easy way to share with you all how to turn a youtube channel into a podcastable RSS feed but there really isn't any. All the instructions out there are mostly old and outdated and DON'T WORK.
The process I had used I only was using because I wanted to watch the video podcasts on my TV without getting out of Plex (a home theater media player for those that don't know) and with Plex the YouTube plugin did not work so I had to find a way to automatically download said videos however the result was not pretty, filenames were "JkduyghklUJKHD73D.mp4" and nothing like "DisUnplugged Episode #322" so viewing them in any sort of sensical order was not applicable. Luckily a 3rd party youtube plugin came around and solved that but it wasn't an easy.
For those that want to take a dive in to the manual process, I use a program called "YouTube to MP3" by MediaHuman. It will extract the audio, its free with a paid version for extra features but unneeded. You'll need to put the resulting files into iTunes (i believe it can do that itself but I manually do it as I don't use it for just one podcast)
