Just a Dream Away- The Imagineering Thread*Are you curious, imaginative, dedicated?

They could do a rollercoaster simulation like the Simpsons Ride :teeth: You're in a rollercoaster cart, with many behind you (on the screen) doing the rollercoaster, and one up front with Phineas & Ferb (also on the screen). It's just making the ride disappear... Maybe do what happened in the show, and you land in the tree, and you use a ladder to get out of the cart :teeth: Also, Perry randomly appears. He needs to.

Totally! Perry HAS to just randomly pop up, lol :] I love Perry. They should totally make a ride like this, It would be my favorite ride (unless they screw it up)

We just see Phineas & Ferb look behind at us, then say "Oh, there you are Perry!", so we look behind us and see Perry sitting in the cart behind us. Oh course if you looked before they say it, you see Perry parachute onto the chair :-D

i think wdw should have a fifth park, themed with disney villians. maybe the park could be like their collective hide out, and it could represent all the classic ones.

I've always thtought a darker park would be in order- the trick is selling it to Tommy and Tina's parents who spend an hour in guest services complaining how the Haunted Mansion was too scary for their kids and should immediately be fixed xD

I'd love to see a Halloweentown land.

hello fellow Imagineers! I shall post the pictures of the expo in this thread! cuz its ma favorite =]

Hiya everyone!

I just ordered the new HM CD from DelivEARS :)

Check it out:
The Haunted Mansion CD, exclusively available at Disney Theme Parks, guides the listener through the attraction as it appears in its current...incarnation on Track 1. Randy Thornton recreated the full audio experience of The Haunted Mansion for the track. This meant layering ambient sounds and sound effects with the score, character voices and songs found in the attraction. The result is an immersive audio experience, as if you were actually riding through the attraction in your doom buggy. Tracks 2 through 6 are highlights from the attraction and/or from original recording sessions: Ghostly Music Box — "Grim Ginning Ghosts" played from an authentic Porter Baroque music box; Otherworldly Concerto — Assembled from recording sessions for The Haunted Mansion's famous pipe organ, which included many variations of the famous theme; A Swinging Wake — The unearthly score from the rollicking graveyard scene; The Graveyard Band — The philharmonic phantoms perform their own version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts"; 999 Happy Haunts – The graveyard inhabitants come out of their creepy old crypts for a rousing reprise of their favorite song. The CD concludes with Track 7, Phantom Manor Suite from renowned composer John Debney. His sweeping orchestral interpretation of Buddy Baker and X. Atencio's classic score is from the Disneyland Paris attraction.

Awesome.

Hey, did you know that the new voice of Mickey Mouse has been chosen?

Hmm... Random trvia of the day. In the line for Toy Story Mania, in the area where you board the cars, there are lights hanging up around the room. The lights are supposed to be christmas lights (because, you know, you're tiny now) and if you look around, you can find one light that's burnt out. (just like real life!) I think the light changes because in the book I have, it says it's a blue light, but it was yellow when I looked in line.

That is awesome!
I wonder how many people don't get that you become toys... the boarding area is Andy's bedroom. I think the queue is a toy box.

Yeah. I like all the crayons randomly around the room :p Some have been used tons while others haven't been used at all.

Mr. Potato Head is quite awesome. The first AA to remove and replace part of it's body (his ear) and also the first to look like it's pronouncing the words he says (or vowels. Something like that)

Probably vowels... thouh his lips seem to have similar technologys to Tom Morrow.

It's a total bummer that if you take the FP line you bypass Mr. Potato.

I like the ride TSMM, the games are fun.. but I'm still up for grabs on how the ride "feels".

The whoe thing from queue to game to end feels really industrial (probably not the right word) and fake. I get that the toys are inviting you into their world to play games with them... and the technology is awesome, but something just doesn't sit well with me about it.

That does suck. My family have only done the standby line once, and he wasn't switched on when we did it. I've been through it twice by myself though, and both times he was on :teeth:

I guess it is kinda fair though. They need entertainment whilst in line, and with Fastpass, you won't have enough time to enjoy him because there's not much chance you'll stop.

Maybe because there's no gradual introduction to the theme. You just walk in, and you're in the story. I would say if they made it so it gave the illusion you were shrinking before going in (even if it's a small room where you enter one side, and on the other side everything is bigger.

I agree. You walk in and BOOM! you're a toy.
Maybe they could use forced perspective to make you think you are shrinking?

Ah! Maybe that's it... Yes I feel some gradual immersion would make a world of a difference. And I'd probably change the set up of the games to be more than a "black box" with painted flats and screens.

So I know you don't go on the HM George, but that means you've never seen this neat-o effect on the outside of the doorway.

^ That video, about 7:05-7:40 in, is the Leota tombstone.

The effect is so well done and so quick that it leaves guests lingering with the feeling of "Did I just see that?"

Or it's gone by the time children try to point it out to their parents, making their parents think they're seeing things.

(Eyes open, head protrudes a bit)

I like the 4d effects on the ride. I only just noticed the water when you hit the balloons on the raincloud :)

Let's see if I can explain this... First part of the queue goes through however they want (can't think of anything atm) and you also pass a "machine" that looks kinda like this:
________
__/
________

Then you go through the machine (but it's just a normal room. When you enter at first, the door in front of you looks the same door as the one you entered, but when you look behind, the door is bigger (can be achieved by a one way mirror perhaps?) and after that, everything is big.

Does that make sense?
