DW & I were at the parks week before last -- Sept 27 to Oct 1. I'm not one to post trip reports, so I'll just post a couple of interesting incidents. This is the first one.

We went on the Jungle Cruise one night shortly before closing. IMHO, this is absolutely the best time to do JC. Everything's dark and eerie, and you can almost believe you're on the river.

Anyway, I don't know whether it was because we laughed at all the CM's jokes, and even applauded at the back side of water (a tradition). Or whether it was because it was his last cruise of the night. Or if it was because we had been handing out glow sticks to all the kids on his boat. But the captain (CM) took a liking to us, and presented us with an "official" Jungle Cruise map.

Is this a common thing? Is it part of the DL pixie dust that the JC CM's pass out at random? Or was it really special for us? Doesn't really matter -- it felt special to us, and just contributed to the Disney magic.

Here's a scan. Didn't scan too well, but you get the idea.

Anyone can get one of these by just asking a skipper at the end of the ride. They have them in the little booth to the left as you exit. Not everyone knows about this little treasure, but they sure are neat!

I never knew about this! How cool. I'm not going to tell my hubby and I'll surprise him next we go, it will be perfect for his "Safari Room." :)

Some of the CMs don't even know about them. A couple of times we have asked the CM that has helped us out of the boat and they have had to ask other CMs. They are really neat! :goodvibes

I never knew about this either. Storing in back of my mind for a hopeful return voyage.

Just one more wonderful thing I have learned from this board! :lovestruc
That is so cool. We'll have to try to remember to ask for one when we go in Dec.
I love to do Jungle Cruise in the dark too! :thumbsup2

That is so cool. I never knew about it either. Thanks for sharing!
