I don't think TP calls the shots but maybe they know something we don't know!
fingers crossed for you! I know you have been hoping and given up hope! I have tightened up my december plans without it (in order to fit the new SW dessert party) but can fit it in later in my trip if there is at least a late show at 8pm or so. I know the sun sets much earlier so here's hoping, the timing will be crucial. I even have planned that day so I could use my 60 day fp+ for it!
To me, that dose not sound like good news, but knowing Disney things may change. Hopefully the last few issues get resolved quickly with ROL, and that they chose to have extended the hours.
they will need to extend the park hours past 6 to run RoL two shows a night with sunset at 5:30 in December. Right now hours are set at 6 (expanded from 5 when initially announced). I think if they have a show, they will have to extend hours. without a show there is no point.I know a couple of AK CM, and they have been told last week to expect closing times for the park to get progressively earlier till November where they expect the park to close at 6.
Really hope this means things are looking up and there will be at least one show per night
jungle book was a cobbled together pale version with poor reviews of the actual much anticipated show. It's not surprising it wasn't packing them in. I would hope if they open it, they open it as planned.
I have been hoping someone that is informed of the casting for performers would chime in. Was it going to be a large cast? Have any of the JB performers that may "fit" the new profile been asked to extend their contract?
I like the Touring Plans web site a lot, but I perceive them as being a techie kind of group. So when they describe the date as a placeholder, I interpret that as meaning they want to test the parameters they've set up in their code, or they want to give users a chance to try scheduling around it.I don't have any idea about how hiring is done. I just found it interesting and hopeful that there was nothing available Sept 6-14 but then suddenly there as of Sept 15th. I'm not counting on it being there but sure am seeing it as hopeful!
Rant warning! It's really annoying how for more than 6 months, they have been waiting until the very last possible minute to finalize schedules. They have always extended hours very last minute as they determine crowds more accurately (one October trip, they extended MK to 8 am only 2 weeks prior to us going, at least this year they did it 4 weeks prior!), but 2016 has been particularly bad with respect to show times. I'm not one to expect them to finalize hours 6 months ahead, but it would be nice to have some fairly accurate idea of show times 2 months ahead, prior to making FP+. They have not been updating the plans until about half-way the month before. Even for DHS, they have not yet announced the Star Wars projection show/fireworks past October 1st, even though that show has been well up and running for months. Will it be at 7:30? 7:45? 8:00? later? Can I count on it being offered nightly? I made an ADR for Club Villain for 5:15 blindly, and now I'm wondering if we'll be able to even see the Star Wars show. And will it be at the same time as Fantasmic? They have not posted the times for Jedi Training. It turns out that my kids are no longer interested, but if they were, I would have liked to take the times into consideration for FP+, etc. It's not just AK and the ROL fiasco, it's just a new way of giving themselves even more operating flexibility that is OK prior to FP+, but not OK after FP+.
