Jungle Book/Rivers of Light Dining Package Lookout thread for Dates After Sept 5th

wasn't that quite some time ago? it feels like it (i am going in december) that quietly (and before they published the TA pdf calendar) that they extended to 6pm but it still lists MSEP so it hasn't been updated for a while.

Nope. TP and WDWPrep and such had it updated but not the Disney World site. We had a friend book a trip the same week as us last week (Dec. 10-17) and she panicked when she saw that AK was only open until 5 and she had a 5:55 reservation for Tusker House. This was just last Thursday. Again all the other sites had it at 6:00 so we knew it was coming. But Disney changed it to 6:00 just this weekend.

I've been using the TA PDF calendar and it's been 6pm there for a month (says the last update date was 7/15)

so it must have been official in some capacity, just a lag updating the website.

the september version still shows 9am-8pm for AK as of 7/15 so they could still add hours to later months.

Been following this thread since May. I have to admit that when it started I felt sorry for all those traveling in June, July, August and September but I was totally confident ROL would be up and running for my December trip. I'm not really feeling all that confident anymore though!

Maybe my confidence back in May created some bad karma. IDK.

nothing really yet however people are reporting that there is a lot of testing of floats going on.

There's no show. The Jungle show runs through Sept 5th and it will not continue. The new show, ROL, had serious problems and was unable to open in April. It is still in testing and there is no scheduled date for opening.

LOL - Just curious. If there is no show and you already have an ADR, why would you want a show dining package? What difference am I missing?

If you are ordering the most expensive appetizer, entree and dessert, you come out ahead with the Tiffin's package than paying OOP.

From the Rumor Roundup. Please note that I am quoting the rumor roundup and this is not an official announcement, but it does sound that the rumors are promising.

Animal Kingdom
Rivers of Light is said to open before the end of the year with most rumors pointing to September. I have heard many issues they had with the show have been resolved for now. You can expect that Disney won’t announce an opening date until they are absolutely sure. It was also announced that Jungle Book: Alive with Magic will officially end September 5th, 2016, though it might not be until October or November until we see Rivers of Light officially open.

The fact that wdwinfo posted it gives me more hope than I've had in a long time! We'll be at AK on Sept 17 so still a good chance it would open after that but only time will tell. At least it's some good news about Rivers of Lights coming sooner than later!

Touring Plans is allowing me to add Rivers of Light to my plan for AK on September 23rd. Wishful thinking? *crossing fingers*
