My DH and I will be visiting WDW from 6/10 to 6/17 with our DDs, 4 and 9. We last visited in October of 2000 - low crowds, perfect weather. I am worried about crowds and heat in June. We are planning to take advantage of early entry, making a bee line for popular rides, and using Fast Pass.

Any other thoughts on how we can minimize waiting during this time of year??

Thank you!

i think you have got it covered,it usually gets busy towards the end of june in my past experience.I am flying out on the 17th so i will hit the busier time.I just plan to do the same as you and have a great holiday! :cool1:

I am flying out June 29th-July 10. I like the heat. They crowds dont bother me. Use fast pass and plan to go back to hotel and swim in afternoon.

We are driving to WDW and will arrive 6/21-7/2 at Pop Century. We usually go in the summer. Change socks often during the day, misting fans, free ice to eat, suck or wear, pop into indoor air-conditioned shows or stores, keep hair off of neck, forgo fancy hair-dos and make-up, hmmm that's all for now. :cool1:

We'll be there at the same time, arriving on the 11th and leaving on the 17th. I think this week's crowd level will be better than the following week or two. We can't wait!

We are staying from June 9-June 18. Last year we went from June 21-July 2 and the crowds were definitely higher the week closer to July 4th. I hope this year the crowds are better earlier in the month.

We were there a week later than you last year. The heat by itself doesn't bother me. It's that darn humidity. So, drink a lot of water, stay covered up as much as possible (put short sleeved tees on the kids rather than tank tops) wear lots of sunscreen, wear a wide-brimmed hat, drink lots of water, head back to your resort for a mid-day swim, eat at least one table service meal a day (the A/C helps cool you off and the food gives the body energy) just don't overeat, drink lots of water, use FP, EMHs are key, don't try to 'do it all'...nothing kills a good time faster than parents that want to see it all/ride it all in order to get their money's worth. Slow the pace for the kids. Hot, sweaty, cranky kids do NOT add to the fun of a WDW vacation. You say you'll miss stuff?? Well, that's why you have to go again in a few years time silly! I was going for the once in a lifetime trip back in '99. Yep, that's why I'm looking at trip number 10 next Dec!!!
Remember, relax, take your time, stop and smell the rosed, and drink lots of water!!!!

We wil be there the same time as you 6/10-17. Did it at the same time last year. It was incredible hot. Animal Kingdom of course is the hottest so you want to do an Early Entry and plan on Kali River Rapids to cool off. Also buy one of thos bottles that have a fan and squirts water. We were fanning and squirting everybody. (Take extra batteries.) Hitting it early is the best. In the afternoon the weather can be unpredictable. Just carry the disposable ponchos you can get at the dollar store.

Have fun and we will see you there! :rotfl2:

Are you interested in doing an Illuminations cruise in Epcot on the 11th? We are putting together a boat. So far I have my DM, DD (8), myself and 2 other Disers (Mum and sun). With the addition of your family we would have a full boat (I think) - have not done this before but it sounds like hecka fun.

As a floridian, I can tell you that IMO, 10 months of the year I sense very little difference in temperature. Its the storms that freak me out :scared: Still, after all these years :guilty:

We'll be there too, the 11th to the 16th!! We were there four years ago at this same time, and the heat got to me some. This trip, we're bringing our two nephews, who will be 7 and 5. I'm a little worried how they will deal with the heat (my girls are used to Disney and heat). This will be our first trip with boys, it's going to be a challenge!!

We'll be there the same week. Flying in from Charlotte, Nc on the 1oth and leaving on the 17th. We usually go to WDW over Memorial day week and it is always so hot and crowded. We always try to take it slow, visit indoor attractions, and plan on an afternoon break. We usually go back to the hotel and swim or nap. Then back to the parks in the evening when it cools down a little. All in all we have a wonderful trip and I know you wil too. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Just another "Same Week!" post!

DH, DD9 and DS6 will be there 11 - 17, too. We went about that time _4_ years ago. It's been far too long!! Anyway, we more or less followed the Unofficial Guide touring plans and our longest wait was 30 minutes (and most things were walk-on). The 30 minutes was for, of all things, Aladdin's Magic Carpets!

Sounds like my kind of waiting time. I hope to see many stand by times in that range.

I went in June 2005 and there was a ton of people there. Actually, we were there during Father's Day and the end of Star Wars Weekends. But thanks to this sight and allearsnet.com, we were able to avoid most of the crowds and lines. We did take advantage of the park hopper option on our tickets and we used the early morning entrance and the late night stays twice during our stay. Basically, in 5 days of going to the parks, in June, we were able to hit each park twice and ride and do everything that we wanted to do. It was awesome. If you would like to pm me, I will give you a sample itinerary of what we did. :cool1:

Thanks for using the book, MouseEarsJenny! The Guide's touring plans have been completely updated since '02, and I'd be really surprised if you had anything like a 30-minute wait for any attraction, even in June.

Best of luck with your trip!

Len

I don't think the crowds will be terrible, but probably a little more than what you're used to. Take advantage of the EMH when you can, and be sure to take breaks during the day to beat the heat. To beat the longer lines, try the more popular attractions during typical mealtimes and parades.

We'll be there the same time, coming in on the 11 and leaving on the 18. Once before we were there the same week, the crowds weren't to bad. But there was rain every day. Not all day. But some severe weather too. So make sure you bring your ponchos. I would suggest ponchos from home because there are so many disney ones its easy to lose people in your party. The rain really didn't bother us it kept the crowds down and mostly everything kept running. Have a great time! :flower3:
