June Waitlist Thread

That is awesome and what a great wedding gift! I'm impressed! :thumbsup2
Thanks! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get AKV at only a month out, much less a savanna view room. I really think there was pixie dust involved to get the room for this couple. Neither has been to WDW since they were kids! They're going to have so much fun. They said this is "the best gift ever." Finally, something I know the couple really realy wants!

I was at a wedding shower this afternoon and learned from the bride that their honeymoon is an unstructured driving trip to Florida. Also, that she has an unused day on a Disney ticket from back when she was 12 years old! The bride and groom love animals so I suggested that I might have a wedding gift idea for them. I said it was late, but there was a chance I could book a DVC room for them for one night as our gift to them. AKV was the first choice as animal lovers.

I called late this afternoon just before closing for MS and asked for either June 11 or 12, first choice was AKV studio concierge. That wasn't available but a one bedroom concierge WAS available for both nights! That was more points than I was willing to give up so I checked on savanna view studios. June 12 was open! Yay!

Now I get to call the bride and tell her pixie dust must have been spread for her because they will get to spend one night of their honeymoon road trip in a savanna view room at AKV.

Wow, that is very giving of you! It sounds like they will really appreciate your gift. So nice to see good deeds!:goodvibes

wow. They must've been waiting for me to post in here. 1BR @ BWV waitlist just came through for 5/31 - 6/6.

Wow! Congrats to you!:cheer2:

I'm still waiting for one night BWV 1bdr. standard for 6/26. :wizard:

The waitlist fairy godmother :wizard: has so far not granted my wish...... It's looking more and more like I will need to do a split stay on this upcoming trip. Maybe posting on here will give me the pixie dust I need.......

Just called for reservations for June 17 - 24. Only SSR available. So... booked SSR and went on the waitlist for VWL, BCV and BWV. Fingers crossed one of them will come through! :)

We are also staying at SSR for the same time period (!)but I made my ressie at the end of April. Because it was late I just asked "What do you have open for those dates?" and they only had 5 of the 8 nights I needed only at SSR.
So I took those, went on the WL for the rest and it came through the next day. I would prefer BW because we like the easy access to Hollywood and Epcot and the only other possibilities for BW are to split our stay in numerous sized rooms/views. That wouldn't be worth it!

Have never stayed at Saratoga and wondered what others who have think about it. It seems there are always openings there................:confused3

Our waitlist just came through!

The original reservation was for all 7 nights at SSR which was all that was available at the time we booked (Feb 08).

I called almost every day for about 2 weeks or so and managed to get AKV for the first 4 nights. (I had heard that sometimes the cash rooms get converted over but do not hit the waitlist so thought I would give it a try.) I also had about 10 different waitlist combo's going hoping just one would pull through. First choice being VWL.

Have been checking every day, sometimes twice a day for what has seemed like eternity (a couple of months) and FINALLY this afternoon our waitlist was confirmed for the last 3 nights at VWL!!!

We are psyched to be able to stay at both AKV and WVL during our trip!

Tammy - SSR is really not bad at all but we just didn't love it. While we liked being close to Downtown Disney, depending where you stay there can be a lot of walking. The rooms were nice but felt like we were staying in a condo complex. In the end do not think it was as much fun as some of the other themed resorts for our kids. Definitely would want to go back there with just my husband or a few couples to enjoy the ammenities.

Best wishes to all who are still waiting on the waitlists!!! ;)

I rewaitlisted ( for up to 7 days to arrival today ) I know that I pretty much have no chance of it coming through, but a girl can dream, right?

Still at SSR, waitlisted for AKV, BWV or BCV. :wizard:

Congrats!! When are you going? I'm trying to figure out how far down the waitlist I might be.

That's the feeling I'm getting from reading the boards. And it being the only thing available for you back in Feb and me in April gave me a headsup. I mean it's subjective of course and we can say we stayed there at least and tried but SSR is not at the top of my list. I figure we'll do a lot of walking in the parks as it is, don't need to do anymore at our resort. (Sorry for those who love SSR)
Well we'll see if our waitlist comes through - I wish I could find someone with a BW ressie who loves SSR!

i'm waitlisted for 1 night, sunday june 1st.

if i don't get in before the waitlist expires monday morning, when i call ms, am i put on a waitlist for the day or do i just have to call at the "right" tiime?

PP - I just called MS today to extend my waitlist until the 7 day mark. The CM told me that if my waitlist still does not come through I will have to call every day to see if something is available. There is no waitlist after 7 days out.

Does that help you? Good luck with your waitlist!

Unbelievably, my waitlist came through 2 weeks out from our trip!!! I've been checking every day, and today it came through!!!! Posting on this thread must have helped! :goodvibes

Good vibes going out to the rest of you waiting. :thumbsup2

Congrats!!! :cool1:

We are going June 17 through the 24th... cheaper airfares going tuesday - tuesday. ;)

The thing I am most perplexed about is why not convert the 'for cash' rooms to dvc at least at the 1 week mark - wouldn't it be better to have the rooms filled vs. empty at the resorts? Occupied rooms purchase resort and park ammenities!

Good thoughts your way to all those still waiting on June waitlists!!!
