Thanks! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get AKV at only a month out, much less a savanna view room. I really think there was pixie dust involved to get the room for this couple. Neither has been to WDW since they were kids! They're going to have so much fun. That is awesome and what a great wedding gift! I'm impressed!![]()
I was at a wedding shower this afternoon and learned from the bride that their honeymoon is an unstructured driving trip to Florida. Also, that she has an unused day on a Disney ticket from back when she was 12 years old! The bride and groom love animals so I suggested that I might have a wedding gift idea for them. I said it was late, but there was a chance I could book a DVC room for them for one night as our gift to them. AKV was the first choice as animal lovers.
I called late this afternoon just before closing for MS and asked for either June 11 or 12, first choice was AKV studio concierge. That wasn't available but a one bedroom concierge WAS available for both nights! That was more points than I was willing to give up so I checked on savanna view studios. June 12 was open! Yay!
Now I get to call the bride and tell her pixie dust must have been spread for her because they will get to spend one night of their honeymoon road trip in a savanna view room at AKV.![]()
waiting...![]()
wow. They must've been waiting for me to post in here. 1BR @ BWV waitlist just came through for 5/31 - 6/6.
Just called for reservations for June 17 - 24. Only SSR available. So... booked SSR and went on the waitlist for VWL, BCV and BWV. Fingers crossed one of them will come through!![]()
Our waitlist just came through!
The original reservation was for all 7 nights at SSR which was all that was available at the time we booked (Feb 08).
I called almost every day for about 2 weeks or so and managed to get AKV for the first 4 nights. (I had heard that sometimes the cash rooms get converted over but do not hit the waitlist so thought I would give it a try.) I also had about 10 different waitlist combo's going hoping just one would pull through. First choice being VWL.
Have been checking every day, sometimes twice a day for what has seemed like eternity (a couple of months) and FINALLY this afternoon our waitlist was confirmed for the last 3 nights at VWL!!!
We are psyched to be able to stay at both AKV and WVL during our trip!
Tammy - SSR is really not bad at all but we just didn't love it. While we liked being close to Downtown Disney, depending where you stay there can be a lot of walking. The rooms were nice but felt like we were staying in a condo complex. In the end do not think it was as much fun as some of the other themed resorts for our kids. Definitely would want to go back there with just my husband or a few couples to enjoy the ammenities.
Best wishes to all who are still waiting on the waitlists!!!![]()
