June vs. August - some questions

From those who have been after August 15th, what time were the evening shows normally (such as Fantasmic, fireworks etc)? How late did the parks stay open? Is there much difference in closing time between June and August? If you've been in both June and August, what time did you like better? Was there much difference in the time of day when the showers came through (with only one exception, when we were there end of June last year, the showers were always between 4-5). Our options for next year are June 12-24 or August 14-26 available. Our days will either be RD to 3 or 4, or RD to noon, afternoon break, then back from probably 5 to close. Looking at probably 5 park days, plus 2 water park days.

We've been in late August for two years and then late June this year. I think the park hours were pretty much the same. August might have had a later closing at MK, but I believe they were very similar. Shows all appeared to be at the same time as well. I pretty much used my same itinerary and didn't have to change show times.

Weather: We must have lucked out this June, because we did not have one bit of rain! The weather was actually beautiful for our first few days and then the humidity returned, but no afternoon showers. Once the humidity did hit, it was HOT!

Timing: When we go, we always do RD to noon, then dusk to close. We always take a break for pool and naps!

Crowds seemed a little bit better in June, but we were there following the events in Orlando, so I'm not sure if that had an impact on crowd levels. I was fully expecting it to be much worse than it was. Also, I don't recall seeing any large tour groups in August, but saw plenty in June!

I probably didn't help you very much. Both times are pretty much equal. I think we lucked out with weather this year.

We've only ever gone in August & I *think* the fireworks are at the same times.. Ie 10:00 for Wishes, 9:00 for Illuminations. The last couple years, park hours were closing pretty early up until sometime in July they change them. For example last year and this year HS close at 8:30 currently but they extended hours closer to August. Makes it tougher to plan. Showers tend to arrive the same time as you mentioned. The occasional 12-1 pop up shower occurred but nothing crazy. And of course it's hot hot hot! Last year heat index was 105 everyday. We don't mind but we are used to going at that same time every summer

Been in early June and August. (As well as most other months.) I will pick late August over June because the crowds are so much more manageable. The heat is not entirely predictable. It is always hot in the summer months, its a given. But then they do get some hot spells, and those are random. Worst heat I've ever experienced was in a May in Disney. Subsequent Junes and Augusts never came close to that time!

Keep in mind, this summer hours have been cut across the board, so while MK usually closes at midnight most days in June for example, this year it has closed at 11pm most nights. Likewise, July hours have seen similar cuts, and I'd expect August, especially later in the month, to see more reduced hours. That said, nobody knows what next year will bring. Generally, if your more concerned about crowds, go for August, but if you want slightly longer hours (and potentially a tiny bit cooler weather), go during June.
