I know that I'm counting down the days until my June trip (June 15th, which means I'm almost at the 40 day mark! :cool1:

I am setting a goal to do this workout every day, since it only takes 20 minutes :thumbsup2 and I've seen some good results with it so far doing it every other day: http://www.experiencelifemag.com/issues/march-2011/fit-body/simplicity-complex.php

Then I am also planning to workout 5 days each week with a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio -- with the goal of getting to the gym before work beginning next week when my gym reopens after its spring cleaning.

I've been following a mock-paleo diet, and this has been working tremendously for me. I have had increased energy and reduced cravings. LOVE! :yay:

So, who else? I began my work for this vacation 80 days out from my departure date (I didn't actually plan it that way, it just happened!). I am now halfway there, and I'd like to lose another 6-11 pounds (I've lost 9 already).

Please join in! :cheer2:
Ashley

Hi! I just saw yout post and I'm a June vacationer too! We leave June 1st and I'm totally in crunch mode. I don't have much to lose but I always like to lose a couple extra pounds before vacation. Especially since we are on the dining plan for 13 days and I don't turn down dessert at disney:) I'm heading in to Weight Watchers tomorrow for a reality check. I know I'm over my goal by a few pounds. So I would like to lose probably 5-7 pounds in the next 23 days. That kind of sounds like a stretch, but my first week really trying, I always lose 3-4 lbs. I'm going to get out all my summer gear today to use as motivation. It's totally cold and raining here today so I'm really looking forward to sunny Florida!!

Hi Vickie! I'm so glad that I'm not totally alone! (I'm also glad that I have a little more time than you do, despite my jealous feelings that you are down to less than 2 weeks.)

Did you make it to your meeting? I love that initial drop! I haven't been to WW meetings, but I have done it online. I'm too scared to actually go in front of people! I made it to Zumba this morning, but it was a low-key instructor and I didn't do as much movin and groovin as I had hoped. I might try to squeeze in a run outside this afternoon between work and more work -- it's supposed to be near 90 today!

Where are you at that it is still so chilly? Or have you been having the weather ups and downs that we've been having here in Minnesota?

Hoping to hear more and cheer you along on your butt-kicking couple weeks!
:cheer2:Ashley

Hey Ashley! I did make it to my WW meeting today and I'm pretty much right where I thought I'd be. I'm at 119.4 and my goal is 114. So I'm only 5.4 lbs away, which is achievable in my time frame. I actually have 3 weeks and 1 day until my trip:cool1: I'm really trying to motivate myself to lose the empty calories in my diet and stick to whole/clean foods regime.
I've never done zumba before, it makes me a little nervous ;) It's good that you got some calorie burning in though. I wish I could go for a run today, but alas, rain again. I'm in SLC Utah and our spring is always the pits. Rain and snow with only a few days of sun, probably until June:sad2: But I'm sure that when I get to Disney, I'll be begging for cooler temps!! I've never been in June and I'm starting to worry about the heat. We plan on doing most of our touring in the morning and evenings. I just hope I can get the fam up for rope drop. 8 or 9 am in FL is like 6 or 7 am UT!!
Sending out good vibes for all of our fat burning ventures today :goodvibes

hi! we actually leave May 26th but our trip extends into June. I just blogged this morning about how I need to kick it into high gear the next two weeks before I have to get into a swimsuit on the disney cruise. ug. I am working out 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day (lifting and running)

and trying to cut out a lot of sugar and white carbs/pastas/breads.

Welcome, Heather!

It sounds like we are all in the same boat. A short term goal, with a vacation as a reward! :cool1:

I am a teacher with only 12 more days (that's including today! So really... 11! Take away the one personal day that I have scheduled, and it's 10!), so I am making it my goal to do an early morning workout each day. I made it to 5:15 spin today, and it's getting easier every morning!

Once Memorial Day weekend is here, then I will start my vacation boot camp, and I plan to do two-a-days like Heather's doing now.

On the whole/clean foods thing, I went gluten free and have been following a mock-paleo diet. It has been the most successful change I have ever made, and I have felt great -- energy levels high and stable, weight dropping easily, and best of all, a happy stomach! :thumbsup2 This is also good because it eliminates most processed foods from my diet.

I need to get a little stricter on myself, though. I have been a little lazy and I indulged a little (Have you tried Magnum bars?! Danger zone!) I am so glad that I have some people to report to, and I hope you don't mind my updates!

Wishing you both a beautiful day and a good workout!:flower3:
Here's to being one day closer to our goals!!:cheer2:

Hi Heather! I checked out your blog, super cute :goodvibes How many Disney races have you done? I've been thinking about doing one of the half marathons. It would be my excuse to get an annual pass and make more trips :thumbsup2.

Way to go Ashley getting to spin so early!!:cheer2::cheer2: And post away! I love updates!!

I think I'm going to jump on the two a day workouts with you ladies. Might as well burn more calories so I can eat them at Disney! My plan for today is to take my dog on a walk this morning and then tonight run 3-4 miles on the treadmill and do my P90x dvd. I'm on day 80!!

Good Morning!

Vickie's right, Heather! Your blog is so great -- I wish I was so good at documenting stuff. :confused3 I guess I just need to get started. What a fabulous thing to be able to look back on!! I can't even keep track of who I've met with on a month-to-month basis to figure out billing at the end. I end up going through all of my emails and text messages trying to sort it out. :worship:

I also played volleyball in high school and rec leagues since. I am not currently on a team because of work, but I can't wait until fall when I will hopefully join up again! I am a setter, and the thought of me hitting or blocking is a joke 9 times out of 10!

I am glad to see how motivated (and motivating!) the three of us are. I almost pushed snooze an extra time this morning, and then I thought, "NO! Today is my day that I can double up!" So, off to the gym I went. Elliptical for 40 minutes, and tonight I will go to Zumba because my favorite butt-kicking instructor will be there. It's a really fun workout that I look forward to, but I am absolutely terrible at it! I really wish we didn't have to do it in a room full of mirrors, because then I could believe that I really looked good doing these sweet dance moves! (Instead I kind of look like a dancing banana.)

Vickie, how have the results been with P90X? I have heard so much good about it, but I tend to pack on muscle and I'm afraid that it would leave me looking like a body builder. That look works for some, but I don't want people to think that I'm the Tarzan show's replacement!

Do you two run/workout on vacation? I'm trying to decide how to tackle this, since I'm doing all of this work now. I don't want to go to the World for 11 days and come back looking like all I did was eat. I am in a wedding at the end of July and I'd really like to look good in all those photos! :cutie:

Can't wait for your updates!:flower3:

Way to go Ashley!! Burning those calories for Disney!! Woohoo!!

The p90x results have been great! I haven't ever been really into strength training, but I'm totally converted. I haven't bulked up anywhere, but I have gotten some great definition. I never thought I'd appreciate arm muscles, but now that I have a little, I love it! I am doing the "lean" version, instead of the "classic". "Lean" is just more cardio and a little lighter on the weight training. I still keep a running schedule as well and it is working out. Now if I had stuck to a good diet and dropped these last few pounds during P90x I know my results would have been 10 times better. But I'm going committed now :thumbsup2 I'm actually planning on doing a second round of p90x after I get home.

In Disney I'm going to run in the mornings/evening. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and they have a great running loop around the lake. I'm also taking resistance bands and hoping they have a playground with monkey bars (pull ups :)). I have all the p90x strenght workouts printed so I can do them without the dvds. I'm actually excited to workout in a new place. I hear Port Orleans is beautiful and I totally wouldn't mind exercising outside during the cooler parts of the day.

How about you ladies? What are your exercise plans during vacation? Also, do you have any dining tips? We are on the dining plan for 13 days and I would love to just maintain my weight. This will be our 4th trip and I've yet to come back without seeing +5 on the scale :scared1: I'm already committing to asking for double veggies and no starch at sit down meals. But dessert is my weakness. I am just hoping to have the will power to leave some of that dessert at the table!!

I have never visited POR, but the photos make it look absolutely beautiful! Isn't it kind of close to Saratoga Springs? I wonder if I could create a sort of loop from SSR into POR or something. I am staying at BWV for the first half of my trip and then moving over to SSR for the second half. I know that both have good places to run, but I am worried about waking up so early and being the only one on the road/path/Boardwalk. What if there is a rogue gator?! This is the same reason that I won't run early in the morning at the cabin during the summer -- there might be a bear! At home I don't run in the early morning dark because I am afraid that there might be a scary person. I am a 'fraidy cat. Do you ever have these concerns? People tell me early morning is safest because anybody who would harm you has passed out, therefore in WDW I am hoping for some passed out alligators, as I know that my only option is getting up with the sun. Whew... I am a rambler, as you can tell.

The other option that I'll consider while I'm there is using the gyms at BW and SSR to get a workout in during the afternoon thunderstorms. May as well maximize it, right?

I didn't know that P90X had a lean version. That sounds like it would be great. It might be a fun summer vacation challenge. I picked up JM Ripped in 30. I have a few of her other DVDs, and I like the mix of challenges that she throws at you, and her no-nonsense attitude.

As for dining in Disney, I have a lot of the same concerns, except we aren't doing Dining Plan. We're having groceries delivered, which should help a lot. Fortunately DBF is good at sharing, so we can split a lot of stuff. I'm worried about eating all of that stuff that I've been eliminating from my diet and puffing up like a giant balloon! Water retention and June and swimsuits just don't sound like a good combination!

This little nugget has seen me through a lot of temptations/guilty feeling moments: A calorie is a calorie is a calorie. It really doesn't matter if it's in pineapple or pie, so if you are going to have the pie, just stay accountable to it and you will be fine!;)

Fortunately for everyone, Disney has really shown initiative in making well-rounded menus.

I made it back for afternoon Zumba, but I was late. I torched an extra few hundred calories, though, and I was glad to get in my first double workout of the vacation countdown! How about you?

By the way, I'm surprised that there aren't others prepping for June. If you're lurking, please stop by!:thumbsup2

I actually never run at home, in the mornings, outside. I only do it at Disney :lmao: I feel totally safe. There are gardeners and maintenance people out, so you aren't completely alone. And I've never thought about the gators!! Disney has so many cameras, I bet they watch out for rouge wild life. My husband and I ran into a big bright orange snake at Epcot one night. We had a late dinner at Coral Reef and the park was empty. Within seconds of spotting the snake on the sidewalk, a security guy came and was calling in others to remove the snake. So I'm confident that Disney is onto of security and wildlife :thumbsup2

I did my yoga x yesterday, still don't like it:laughing:. My arms are sore today from all the push ups they make you do in between all the moves. I also took the dog for a 50 minute walk.

Today I'm exercising late. I've been nannying 3 kids, plus my own DD, since 7:30am and I'm exhausted. I did take the younger 2 out in a wagon (which I pulled) with the dog for an hour! So I guess that counts for something. But tonight after I take DD out to the movies, I have a date with P90x core synergistics.

I love reading the updates! Keep them coming! And yes, if there are any other lurking June trippers, jump in and join our crazy exercise crunch!!

POR is a beautiful place to run! We usually stay at the GF so i run all through there, then over to the Poly and TTC and back to the GF. I LOVE it!

Last time we were in WDW a few months ago we saw a huge black snake at EPCOT slither into one of the bush areas, I wanted to DIE! I HATE snakes!

When I stayed at BW last year there were a ton of other people out early running around the lake, workers cleaning pools, etc. you won't be alone!

Can I join too? I want to lose about 4-6 lbs by the time we leave June 10. I'm doing WW. In the past 4 days I've walked 14 miles.

:welcome: Hooray!! We have another June cruncher :goodvibes

Great job with the walking! How are you liking WW. I've been a lifetime member for a few years, but i just got the orientation on the new program. I like how fruit is now 0 points, but that also makes me a tad nervous. I haven't counted my lower cal fruits like berries and oranges, but I still count some of my other higher calorie fruits:rolleyes: Well my WI is tuesday so I guess we'll see how it goes.

Happy Monday everyone!! Uh, I was not very good yesterday. I threw a party for my mom's 50th B-day and I indulged in the desserts a bit too much. I did run 5.5 miles though, and played Just Dance with my DD. I'm hoping that the exercise will help erase my naughty eating. I've sent all the leftover desserts to my neighbors and with my husband to work!!
My plan for today is to track all of my WW points and burn lots-o-cals! I'm only nannying 1 kid today so I should be able to do some cardio during nap time. Then tonight I'm doing p90x.

Welcome, Stitch & Lauren!

I haven't been able to post because we've been dealing with computer issues -- stupid viruses! Fortunately we still have the trusty backup, but we never backed up the other so... ARGH!

I took today off of work to use up my last personal day of the year. Woke up and did spin class (at which I did a pretty weak job) and then borrowed a friend's dog to go to the lake and for a 3 mile walk. All in all, it was more of a rest day, but it was good to have some active rest.

On Sunday I went for a 4.5 mile run and Zumba, and Saturday was a 3 mile run. I am content with my weekend efforts, and the movement of the scale has been keeping me very motivated!

I did have my first piece of cake in 7 weeks today -- I have learned that my body is very sensitive to gluten, and cake just made me feel like I had a terrible hangover/sick stomach. I'm glad I have figured that out! Now the challenge to find ways to avoid all those treats at WDW begins!

Stitch, we have similar goals -- I would like to lose about 5-7 pounds before leaving on the 14th. Tracking my calories makes all the difference, because it holds me accountable for every single one. Sometimes that means I'm hopping on the bike a little later in the evening, but I feel great knowing that it's a balanced effort.

Lauren, what is your plan before you head out? I love hearing what others are doing to maybe get some new ideas.

Vickie, you have children and you nanny? That sounds like a calorie killing life -- do you even need to work out?!?! Just kidding, I'm sure it's exhausting, though. You're almost to 90 days, right? Will you post before and afters, or at least share your results?

Heather, I checked in on your blog -- awesome job in the race! :thumbsup2 How soon until you begin packing your bags?

Oooh, I can't wait to hear from you all! I will be up and at 'em early again in the morning. I only have 9 more days of waking up at 4:32 before school's out for summer! :teacher: In these last days, if I'm not rising and shining, the workouts will not get done! I'm loving this 2-a-day trend that I've been on, though. I think I will set my goal to be 2-a-days at least 3 days each week, with a target of 10 workouts a week -- if I do 5 days of 2-a-days, then I get 2 rest days! :cloud9:

Keep it up, Ladies! I leave after all of you, but I feel like I still have a long road with these 5-7 pounds. We can all achieve (and take some glowing vacation photos!). Can't wait, can't wait!

Long post...
:cheer2: Ashley

It's raining it's pouring...it's snowing!! Ugh, I hate springs in Utah. I'm so looking forward to the warm Florida sun :cool1:! Today is a rest day for me, but I'm going to stroll on the treadmill while I watch some tv later.

Ashley- Good to hear the scale is moving in your favor!! :yay::yay:
If you lived near me you could borrow my dog anytime :) I had to take mine to a doggie daycare today so she could burn some energy. And yes my house is always a zoo with all the kids and animals! I only have one DD7, but I nanny 3 others. A Boy-3, Boy-4, and Girl-6. They belong to 2 of my neighbors. On the days that I nanny I am exhausted! But it is probably more mental than physical.

I was planning on weighing in at WW today but I forgot I was on field trip duty at my DD's school. So I'm going tomorrow. Wish me luck, I'm feeling a bit nervous because I was naughty Sunday. I'm being super good today though, hopefully that will help :)
